P&P. Why aren’t my comments posted here?
She looks good. but every time I see Good Earth, my head spins remembering their totally insane prices.
Good Earth – Are you listening ? Please price your items fairly. Thanks.
Absolutely right! Especially knowing the true weavers, artisans, craftsmen make next to peanuts.
Yes, that’s my point when it comes to good earth. Most of the stuff is hand woven, simple stuff (it is pretty, no doubt). However, the artisans and weavers are making next to nothing. How can such exorbitant prices be justified? One simple chanderi kurta is like 30-50k. It seems like the business owner only wants the elite to wear their clothes. Middle class is not good enough for them to deserve their clothes.
Madhulika toh Good Earth ke suits pe bhi discount maangti hai. She is just soooooooo middle class. Sorry ah Madhulika, just joking.
Totally. Its hardly sustainable when the weavers make such a low money and the intermediaries make the moolah.
Used to be a huge fan of Good Earth tableware and linen till I went to Kashmir and saw that literally every single print is a copy. Good Earth’s color combinations and so – called signature collection of-delicate palette with distinct floral artwork, everything. I appreciate the quality but that’s a given considering their pricing.
Yes. So much this ^^^.
Their products are so reminiscent of Kashmir. The entire store has Kashmir written all over it; they might as well name it Good Kashmir.
In general, no issues with drawing inspiration from a state, but blatant copying and elitist business principles makes it so unappealing to me. You cannot possibly get away with being so elitist in this day and age. It’s so unethical when businesses do that!
True. Goodearth certainly seems to be positioning itself as a store fir the super rich only. Even their home decor is now exorbitant. Sad part is that it wasn’t so a few years back. I’m reminded about that dialogue from Sacred Games, ‘ kabhi kabhi aisa lagta Hai ki apun hi bhagwaan hai’. You hit on a good idea, get successful and you think you can get away with anything. Nothing, absolutely nothing justifies a simple kurta costing 30k.
The prices don’t justify and then the fact that the artisans and weavers are not the people who make the money but the rich getting richer off their back using their name.
