Sari Style

At an event honoring Rekha, Kangana was seen in a geometric motif kanjeevaram sari gifted to her by Rekha. Hair in a bun complete with mogra, she finished out her look with black bangles, a necklace from Anjali Bhimrajka Fine Jewels and white Fizzy Goblet jootis.

She looked lovely!

  1. She looks beautiful….I love her style..she really knows how to style a saree…without adding any bollywood element in it…she makes even Sabyasachi sarees look refreshing(I know this saree is not Sabyasachi)

  2. Quite a different colour and print of kanjeevaram. She does complete justice to it..
The one bangle stuck on her hand.. Have a strong urge to push it down with other bangles 🙂

    • I don’t know where Rekha shops but this store is wonderland for kanjeevaram lovers. Here is where I bought sarees for sister’s wedding and several years later, for my brother’s wedding. Both times, the brides regretted not buying their sarees from Parisera. 🙂

      • When I was in Bangalore recently, I shopped at Varamahalakshmi(Jayanagar store). The salesman told us that Rekha buys her sarees from their store. I am not sure how accurate this information is, but he did show us some sarees which we were out of this world. They do have such unique collections, highly recommend this store more than Angadi Silks.

    • There’s a shop in Juhu(Mumbai) – Kalaniketan, where she frequently goes to shop for the sarees. Got a good mix of traditional and modern sarees. love the collection, must visit for saree-lovers. <3

  3. That saree is so so so gorgeous! Personally I would style it differently, not a fan of the necklace or Jooti with the saree. but that doesn’t take away from how lovely Kangana looks

  4. What a lovely saree this Kanjeevaram is! Kangana is looking absolutely gorgeous. She makes me want to reach for my sarees so bad, even though there is no occasion that’s calling for it right now! such a sweet gesture from Rekha.

  5. Not a saree wearer myself, but my god, this saree is traditional and chic at the same time. The color/pattern is so modern. I can imagine wearing it with sleek hair, soft Smokey eyes and simple ankle strap sandals for a slightly more contemporary take.

  6. As much as I love how Kangana looks here, and as much as I love her championing the saree, I do have a pet peeve when it comes to pairing jootis with sarees. I really, strongly feel that they are made for salwar suits, and that open-toed sandals go best with sarees.

  7. This is a look that is perfect-only if the foot is not exposed. Scroll up and down to see how everything else goes together perfectly. But when the shoes are revealed, it is the perfect peacock’s feet reveal. Too bad she did not choose a gold sandal or black jootis even…..
