In Gaurang

Kangana attended Sonam and Anand’s wedding reception wearing a silk kanjeevaram Gaurang sari gifted to her by her sister Rangoli. I do love that she picked a personal piece for the occasion but was iffy on the hair. Between the color of the hair and the border of the sari, the look felt oddly match-ey and too one-toned, something that could’ve been avoided if she’d worn her hair in an updo.

  2. The draping seems to be done in a rush but the saree is gorgeous. She looks lovely. She should have worn a couple of simple bangles though.

  3. It’s very hard to pull off broad bordered sarees. She just about manages to do so. Especially since she is wearing juttis and not heels- wide borders can make one look shorter.

  4. Vidya walked the ramp in this saree and looked as gorgeous as Kangana does here, which is probably a testament to this stunning saree. It reminds me of 1970s South Indian movies and the ladies of yesteryear looking like Goddesses. le sigh

  5. This feels like a breath of fresh air after the ornate MM and Sabya lehengas. Will take this over those looks any day. I just wish it was draped better. But thats a lovely saree.

    • I completely agree. She looks so easy yet classy . Only ms. Ranaut could’ve held her own and look the best out of all in something so simple as compared with what everyone else had on . Love this gal

    • Completely agree. Besides, it is so refreshing to see somebody not considering somebody else’s marriage a platform to showcase your style or accessibility to latest designer collection. This is how I understand attending functions of family & friends – Keeping it slick yet true to the theme. Kangana has a way with simplicity!!!

  6. I was hoping someone would wear a traditional saree. Kangana looks lovely amd fresh in a sea of midriff exposing overly ornate lehengas. I wish more actresses had gone for a saree.

  7. I actually like that the hair colour is the same lovely bronze-gold as on the saree. And the saree is just beautiful.

  8. Such. A breath of fresh air and looks so splendid and well put. After severe eye fatigue from the Manish malhotras and sabyas that were trying to compete with the bride, this feels so beautifully put together and apt! Trust Kangana to get it right every time!

  9. She was hands down the best dressed guest for the evening. BOLLYWOOD celeb these days give you an overdose of those extremely ornate and overtly embellished designers lehengas for such occasions and Sonam’s wedding was no different. They looked like models of some bridal wear show. So over the top.Kangana was such a breath of fresh air. Loved every bit of her look!!

  11. So appropriate for someone else’s wedding reception. What a beautiful saree and so effortless rather from those choking blouses and chokers. P&P how can you even not mention these points rather than picking up on her hair. And you appreciated Sonam’s head gear on the wedding look, so partial seriously

  12. I love the colour of the saree but the border is too wide. The draping is sloppy and in between that and the stiff material she looks shorter than usual. Could have worked on someone taller

  13. The hair is so bad and godawful. It make her look like a dated TV soap character. The saree is lovely though the border is too broad

  14. On a different note, any tips on how to drape sarees with such wide borders? I have a similar saree, and this is exactly how the parlor lady draped it for me. I knew it looked off, but since I don’t have much experience with wearing sarees, I didn’t know how to tell her to fix it!

Its an Organza saree. Because of the slight stiffness, the drape will always be an issue for anyone.
The hair should have been a bun. All else is perfect
