In Anavila

The closing ceremony of MAMI saw Ms. Koechlin in an icy-hued Anavila sari, one that she wore with gold accessories. The neckpiece here sure was unconventional but in a way it still worked. She looked lovely.

I, for one, quite loved.

  1. What a lovely saree it is and a beautiful colour. I never saw Kalki beautifully dressed like this. All these years she dressed in way, I never noticed her. The only thing I would take away is the chain. She looks lovely for the first time to me atleast.

  3. Major love!! Such a B-E-A-Uuuuuuuuuuuuutiful look!! In my opinion she is the true fashion icon of Bollywood rather than Sonam/Kangana/Kareena!! Wears classy looks and more importantly dresses for the occasion!! You go girl!!

  4. She looks pretty.best from the lot. Thank God the drape is not sloppy & pretentious casual.what I don’t understand is what is anavila about this saree. It could also be a raw mango or local Chanderi saree. Just that it’s overpriced designer wear. Is it?! Only Nandita das could carry off a local weavers saree with confidence. None of the celebrities would wear this if this wasn’t anavila.Anyhow I am loving this look for a change! The delicate color suits her! More than the boring naturals.

    • This isn’t chanderi, it’s hand woven linen, anavila’s signature fabric. Raw mango specializes in chanderi more. It’s not out of this world unique but it’s a lovely fabric that she’s brought back into main stream. I love the feel of this fabric more than chanderi.

  5. The drape! What a sight for sore eyes! I thought I’d never again see a Bollywood actress neatly drape a sari so that it covered both boobs. She looks amazing.
