In Kunal Anil Tanna

Kajol has given us plenty of reasons to do a double-take what with her recent sartorial evolution. And her menswear inspired look from last night was no less surprising. Wearing Kunal Anil Tanna shirt and jacket and Burberry pants, the actor finished out her look with side-swept hair, a strong red lip and black pumps.

It made for a refreshing change and an interesting look no doubt, but we did have two minor issues with it. One, the exposed zipper seam/exposed zipper at the crotch, not a design element we personally like. And two, the ashy make-up. Aside from that, props for trying something new!

  1. Kajol and Rohit Shetty were dressed quite similarly. But yes, good for her for trying something new, even though the zipper and her makeup looks terrible.

  2. Makeup is atleast 3 shades too light. The entire look falls flat. She needs to get her hair /makeup done professionally for these events.

  3. For a second I was like, wait is that Rekha? I like it actually, waist up that is. I think the side swept hair, the red lip – all the elements make her look fun and different. Kudos.

  4. Kajol can make masculine looks work, and I really like Nehru jackets for women. But really, it doesn’t need to be ‘hospitality chic’. even the shoes look like part of a uniform.

  5. Kajol should not even bother with trying to look lighter than she is … her eyes and complexion compliment each other perfectly, so she should stick with her gorgeous dusky-ness ..

  6. On the plus side: she’s experimenting.
On the minus: she STILL has no idea what works for her. And her stylist isn’t helping. Menswear-inspired fashion works excellently on lean, athletic bods. Kajol’s is a quintessentially feminine, curvy figure. There’s no consonance between her shape and her attire.
    And then there’s the make-up and hair…

  7. I seem to be one of the few who loves this ! I think she looks cool – why have celebs not sported this more – indian men’s wear for women. Love love love.

  8. why the ghostly makeup? i wish women like Kajol flaunt their natural skin tone and don’t cover themselves with lighter foundation and fairness creams… disappointed truly!

  9. Love her for wearing something other than the usual Bollywood saree. Maybe a wider leg pant in flowy material would have been a good foil to the top half?
