In Faabiiana
Kajol attended Durga puja celebrations on Monday evening wearing a bandhani sari from Faabiiana featuring additional embellishments and paired with jhumkis and yellow bangles. Does she look nice? Yes. But, to me, this had a more Bolly event vibe to it than a pujo one.

spot-on commentary. bring back the nice sarees, Kajol!
Didi, u do know that there are 9 colours denoted for 9 days of navratri?
The practice of wearing nine colors during Navratri was started by Maharashtra Times back in 2003 and it continues.
If you dont plan to cover Jaya Bachchan, I feel its ageist on your part.
I will cover her like I will feature Rani from today as well. But, you’re making assumptions without even doing some research. If you go through archives, you would know I have covered Mrs. Bachchan plenty of times.
Kuch bhi?!!
She frequently covers Sharmila Tagore, Asha Parekh, Wahida Rehman Rekha even Asha Bhonsle Tai once I recall
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Please go and touch some grass.
I loved Kajol in this…looks festive too to me Payal. So much of her body covered…how could you say bolly event vibe???:)
Sincere question P&P. Request not to censor it. Female divine veneration is dominant through all of the Indian East. Much of the rest of India also partake in these 10 days of worshipping Maa Durga. Why refer to it as Pujo may I ask? Is there some cultural monopoly or proprietory GI tag to Maa now?
I have seen this sentiment reflected across my social circle that spans many communities, hence thought to bring it up. I do not mean to offend anyone.
Pujo is the Bengali word for Puja and you will mostly hear Bengalis use the word to mark this time of Navratri/Durga Puja celebrations.
Exactly my question. Why refer to it that way when addresinga global audience and you yourself are not Bengali.
Because the event itself is at a Bengali setting.
Ok I understand your logic Payal… I asked my Bengali friend what their plan for pujo was 🙂
I didn’t think the placement of the top paisley on the sari was flattering and the blouse’s yellow doesn’t seem to match the paisley’s yellow. All her other looks for this festive time have been fab tho.
