The Pink Ladies

Pink was the choice of color for both these actresses at the TSR TV9 Awards where they were also felicitated. While we don’t care of Juhi’s lehenga (even though she herself looked great), it was still tons better than Jaya’s black/pink sari.

Got a preference?

  1. Juhi for me too, even though the style is so 80s.
How I wish Jayaprada would wear neat and simple Kanjeevarams with such heavy necklaces – she has such a gorgeous face. This styling does not do her any justice.

  2. jaya aunty can u pleez give that sari to shruti hassan? its got such potential to be rock n roll ish. paired with black blouse n dark eye makeup, would make such an edgy look. love the pink black combo.

  3. Really? I loved Juhi’s pink lehenga..Just as a lehnga should be..I believe its a Ritu Kumar one that she wore for a wedding earlier…Juhi makes getting older appear a breeze..

    • totally agree with Sev!

One the one hand, everybody always keeps saying, dont follow trends, keep our own style that suits your personality. And when someone does that, they say “It’s outdated”….if it looks good on the person then…who cares?!!

And may I add that that lehnga (I agree, most probably Ritu Kumar judging from the intricate work) looks timeless?

  4. I somewhat disagree about Juhi’s lengha. I think she went back to a classic traditional look here, and it suits her. The color looks great on her (Dont even want to venture a comment on Jaya Prada’s). Its in a way a refreshing look to see a lengha done in a traditional manner. She carries it beautifully!

  6. Juhi appears to be wearing a chaniya choli in the old fashioned way. Sometimes it is good to see this. I like her look here, particularly compared some people’s garish appearances at these functions. Too much criticism ladies???

    • The same reason why people wear gowns to awards..Gowns are consideredelaborate outfits for festive occasions, as are rich saris and lehengas…DOn’t forget that gowns are worn at weddings in the West, where they originated, just as lehengas are in the South-East Asian area. So why can’t the latter be worn at an event formal enough to be considered a “red carpet” event?
