In Twos: Part Deux

While travelling recently and at her birthday celebration with the press, Janhvi was seen wearing more block print kurta suits with jootis. She looked lovely in both. Have a favorite?

  1. It’s about time HHC set some standards and editorial policies for itself. This post, and others like it, are problematic for several reasons. First and foremost, these “outfits” were not worth covering. A rag is a rag, and home attire is home attire. Just because a famous bosy is wearing it, does not elevate it to the point of being discussed and admired. The outfits in these pictures are plain at best and hideous agt worst. Not to mention, the dog tail on that ugly bag. Sure, this is my personal opinion, but by no measure is this outfit saying anything about the person wearing it. And I suspect, neither was that Ms. Kapoor’s intetion.

Second, I am increasingly concerned that this blog is supporting the predatory, intrusive aspects of paparazzi culture. It is fair game to cover celebrities when they present themselves for critique at a public event, but to stalk them in their private time is just plain wrong and unethical. And for you guys to monetize those pictures is just as despicable.

    Be better.

    • Private time? She stepped out to cut a cake on her birthday with the paparazzi and that is the event that is covered here. As for the outfits, perhaps you do not like the suits, but we did and felt it’s worth a share. Not every outing has to be high-fashion.

      • Thank you for explaining. I stand corrected.

But time and again I see pictures here in which the celebrity has been photographed while walking, or when he/she does not seem to have had given permission to be photosphere. In some, they can even be seen shielding themselves from the onslaught of camera flashes.

Women, men, children, whether they be celebrities or ordinary denizens should have agency over their body and should not be photographed if and when they don’t want to.

You guys have always been self-reflective and receptive so I do hope that you will review your practice and make amends where (and if needed).

        Thank you!

        • I think you are being a lil ignorant here..I have been following the blog for years n one thing I really like about PnP is that they don’t put the so called gym shots or the sneaky shots, or shots of kiddos.

    • The following statement has no relation to fashion but I just had to type it.
It is natural to have difference of opinion tastes, ideas etc, but what is important is not to be rude while stating them.

    • I kind of agree, some outfits have no inspiration and covering just about everything is really pap behaviour. Or maybe just club all the spotting into one.

  2. Basic suits. Just an actress wearing them so they get covered.
btw, I wonder if you would feature actors (male) dressed down….simple T and Jeans.
They do not get featured here much – either dressed up or down.

  3. Suits are nice, but I’d like to say it seems like her wearing suits is a strategical ploy done by PR, making it still seem curated rather than effortless.

  4. Everyone would have worn some form of this suit many times….I remember wearing these kinds of tops all the way back in 90s. The only difference is that the pants were not above ankle. You could find these for Rs.300 in every shop that sold chudidhars back in 90s itself. I don’t understand what is designer about these suits. And now that we have seen all the younger stars wearing them, there isn’t any novelty to them either. The same goes with some of the posts with jeans and tees. Just because they are designer, doesn’t mean they are any different than the others that look the same but are non-designer.

Most bollywood stars look nice in most outfits. So, is there a point to covering their clothes here just because they wore it and/or it is designer stuff?
