costumey, over the top, but there’s something distinct about the whole collection when you see it together…the gold + green ballgown in the bottom row and the long white jacket + blue chudhidhar are quite striking!
Love love love the churidar jacket combo so much, I’m willing to excuse the way she has butchered a few perfectly good kanjeevarams, to make a some strange ball gowns.
+1.
I was about to comment on the mcqueen resemblance.
I like the overall collection and have a strong feeling that DP and PC would be wearing one of these very soon.
Actually, those two gowns were the only ones that sort-of stood out for me in that sea of bling. May not be the ideal use of them (for that, seen Vogue’s feature on Indian textiles a year or so ago? Amazing), and they’re a total departure from the rest of the collection, but could have worked with a little more thought.

had to comment…my pet peeve the scowling Carol is back to scowl and ruin a perfectly enjoyable moment…
Not scowling, she’s sneering.
I think she has what they call a “bitchy resting face.”
+ 1000 she ruins it each time
Awesome…one of the best designs i’ve ever seen.
Last row…I think they cut up a few good silk sarees…what a waste.

I see a lot of mc queen embroidery inspiration in d black gowns,3 rd row seems to be channel inspired, and d floral gowns seems elie saab inspired…no??

what a precious waste of kanjeevaram sarees in the last row.
