India Couture Week 2014: Manish Malhotra
A lot of gold and mirror work dominated Manish Malhotra’s Couture collection which consisted of his signature lehengas and floor-length anarkalis.
Some of the pieces were exquisite, especially the embroidered ones, but some also had fit issues. But, we know that won’t stop our celebs from sporting a few of the opulent designs right away.
What do you think of the collection?

Is that Alia?? :O hard to identify
Rich and opulent describes it very well. Again a gorgeous color palette – very olde world charm! Love the fitted lehenga (2nd row, 2nd from right). A very nice men’s collection too. Are the men’s outfits pajamas or trousers? They bring to mind really old (circa 1947) men’s fashions .
Almost didn’t recognize Alia in the second last pic. Saw a pic on her Insta account and the details incorporated in that lehenga are amazing
Don’t like it. Nothing new I haven’t seen before. Most of these will look tacky of the runway if they aren’t styled properly . The men’s collection is slightly better
I dont get why he keeps favouring that dull metallic mehendi green colour in every collection of his..apart from that really liked the ivory ones in the first row.
Some of the pieces are sumptuous. Alia looks overwhelmed though. Needs a more mature-looking person to carry off that look.
BLAH!!
ONE WORD. NOTHING NEW AND FRESH.
So true…..I am surprised people are liking this. It is such a lazy collection……seems recycled from prior collections .
Sweet Alia looks a little shell-shocked.
looks a lot like arpita mehta’s work.
lovely
Some of the pieces are good particularly the red ones. I love Alia in her lehenga. Aditya Kapoor looks pretty yum. 😉
I see a tribute to Sabya in the designs! Nothing original to say ah this is creative
Im surprised you both seem to like the collection. Looks like a badly rehashed n “put together at the last minute ” show. Im really disappointed. He seems to be stuck in a velvet and silk zone with “lets try another version of sabyasachi”. Sad.
