In Raw Mango

At an awards event on Tuesday evening, Jennifer was seen in a sari and blouse from Raw Mango paired with long earrings. She looked lovely in it. The drape here also was intentional to show off the blouse a bit but this one didn’t bother me as much.

  1. Oh wow, she looks so nice. And yes the drape looks quite elegant and done in a casual way vs the forced look that we typically see.
Gorgeous saree and she takes it to a higher level the way she’s worn it. Major love

  2. This is not working for me. It does not look like she has draped a saree, but thrown on a sheet in a hurry. A crisply tied saree shows off the saree and hides so many flaws. It is one of the most elegant outfits when done properly. This is just a sad mess. And I’m not sure why we must wear these whacky blouses to show off. A hand painted kalamkari blouse peeking out would have looked great.

  3. What’s so great about that blouse to show it off?

Jennifer’s face is looking angelic. A normal drape would have elevated the look to one of the best on these pages.

  4. The Saree is gorgeous and that should have been the focus. There is no workmanship or anything in that blouse to show it off. It is a plain wine colored blouse. A normal drape would have still shown the sleeves and blouse color.

  5. she looks fine. i love a saree that’s draped casually, with confidence — it doesn’t need to be pleated and pressed to within an inch of its life. it’s because the whole vibe is casual that the blouse showing doesn’t look jarring — also helps that the blouse has sleeves and it isn’t an itty-bitty scrap of cloth.

    • So agree! I learnt how the drape a saree very late – like in my late twenties. I remember the first time I wore it-for a friends wedding – it was a chiffon saree & I pleated and pinned it like my life depends on it.

After years of wearing it now and reaching out for a saree as my first garment of choice , Now I dont use any pin for pleating. I love the casual fall of a saree now!

I like this look. So agree with you on the blouse too. Make up and hair is fantastic!

  6. It feels like the saree is unravelling rather than a casual drape. A casual drape is what I’d call Vidhya Sinha’s saree looks in chhoti si baat or rajnigandha.

Maybe the considerations for stars are different, but I can’t imagine wearing this drape at a family or work event.
