  1. surprisingly out of all the velvet outfits you guys have posted so far, i like this the best..maybe because she has the confidence and personality to pull it off and the beige and gold compliments the burgandy velvet really well..Jaya could learn a tip or 2 from Ila on how to pull of a shalwar kameez! I think this is fab!

  2. The dress is alright, but a different fabric would have been better. She looks nice. I wish she’d paired it with less chunky earrings and a smaller bindi.

  3. i like it, although its too much velvet it still looks ok with the neck and the sleeve detailing… and it may shine a lot in the picture but it does not look very shiny in person, better than all the other velvet stuff we seen here!!!
Plus very good choice of footwear, she looks nice and it suits her…. IT gets my vote!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. I have to ask this cause i am not indian, why they draw this long thing on their forehead, I thought it should be round and if its long it means evil, am I right

  6. @me – Traditionally a bindi is supposed to be round. But people get creative with it and it can be long, triangular, oval, etc.
I have never heard of an ‘evil’ version of the bindi, in fact its supposed protect against bad stuff.

  7. me,
LOL. I think you’ve watched too many Bollywood movies where the villian always has the big long tikka(mark) on his head… There is no significance to it being long or short. Just style. Like Rekha used to wear a huge big red one not between her eyes but much higher…

  9. looks very good. i’m just astonished as to how she managed to find such a matching sandal with the work on the kurta. I’m sure they aren’t custom made.
