Wearing Manish Malhotra, Huma and Urmila attended the designer’s Couture show in Delhi today with both wearing floor-length anarkalis.
We already weren’t fans of the stark white embroidery against the maroon but what made things worse for Huma were the finishing touches. The open hair, the lip color and worst of all, the black pumps.
Sure, Urmila fared a bit better in her ornate gown but the sleeves looked a bit odd. Or maybe it is these pics.

I thought the same. The anarkali isn’t great but HQ makes it work. Urmila looks dull though her anarkali is better.
There is this strange thing about MM…they all look so same but when you look in detail there are not really any same…huma’s make up looks so off..the piece she is wearing is not good too…wats up wid urmila’s poses?!?
Burgundy is definitely Huma’s color. I don’t really like her suit but that color looks great on her!

Agree…….I am so done with anarkalis for this lifetime……SO DONE.
‘Open hair’ again? Anyway, Huma’s outfit looks like a French maid uniform for the conservative-minded.
Actually, Huma’s look doesn’t bother me as much as some of her other appearances. The maroon is a lovely colour on her. I can’t see the black pumps but agree that they are a total deal breaker.
Urmila’s outfit is exquisite (yes, even the sleeves) but those poses *ugh*
Here’s a noob question. What seasons do the fashion cycles in India follow? I can tell it is definitely not Summer-Winter considering hpw some designers (esp the Bollywood ones) always make their clothes for cold climes.
Malhotra and Sabhyasachi for e.g. always seem to nake heavy and opulent, head to toe stuff. I know it is couture and not expected to be ready to wear but it seems excessive to me.
Maybe wedding season?
