WTHeyyy!!!

Forget the fact that Hema attended an awards event wearing the outfit below, the more baffling aspect was that it was daughter Esha who dressed her this way! If Esha was considering a move into styling, we suggest she work a lil’ harder on it.

  1. This certainly isn’t a WThey. If she wore fitted western clothes she would look better. Esha should try to find a different outlet for her (lack of) talent

  2. Shoes & hair look wrong for the dress. As others have said, Hema Malini does not look too bad, but it does not fit the occasion. If she was meeting someone for coffee, this would be nice.

  3. OMG!! the badly done hair, the terrible shoes and the length of that skirt, and the combination of that shirt with that skirt…that shirt with jeans, pumps and an updo – wold have worked but not for an awards event!!!

  4. This outfit is definitely better than some of Sri’s western outfits and a lot of sameera ‘s appearance. This doesn’t deserve Wthey or a not quite. Nothing great abt it and nothing bad either. Hema though can do better than this.
I used to love Sri in movies when she wore western wear but now I don’t know why, I just can’t stand it.

    • Totally agree with your thoughts, Lavanya! It’s very so so, not impressive, but definitely not a WTHeyy!
It’s way better than Sridevi with her unsightly kness and always-one-size-too-small western wear – and I simply adore Sridevi in all her saree appearances.

  5. it’s nice to see her looking light and breezy vs her usual Indian Nari in a Sari vibe but the shoes look orthopedic. i do appreciate the overall non-garish feel and applaud the choice of muted colors.

  6. Years of elegance undone by this one image? The various ways in which our kids can torture us…feel sorry for the poor woman. I remember the days when I used to insist that my mom dress up in “younger” clothes though she always preferred a sari.

  7. Do not like the CAPTCHA. It is evil. Math is evil. Please don’t rekindle my childhood trauma of Math. It’s taken me over 15 years to stop having anxiety dreams over a Math test.

  8. One: I think the comments about Esha are a bit harsh..yes this outfit could be better but lets cut out the stylist bashing here. Seems petty and out of place given that this site never takes the same approach with other stylists.

  9. whoa. what a fall from grace. this outfit is sloppy, and not even Hema Malini carry off. WTF were they thinking with the hair and those shoes?!!

  10. Oh Come on … How can you compare Sridevi and Hema.. Sridevi and Hema are about 20 years apart in age..Sri was barely born when Hema did her first movie…Hema rocks her sarees ..but dosent mean she can dress casual comfortable on a certain day… Its not a great look.. but give her a break

  11. This is one actress who can still look great in sackcloth and ashes.
Clothes maketh most men, but the divine Hema malini cannot be mowed down by the grungiest, drabbiest dress. She is iconic.
Of course, would love to see her turned out well in western garb too. It only adds to her divineness.
