With Or Without?

Genelia performed at the Pantaloon Femina Miss India contest and before her performance was spotted in a maroon sari which we thought she looked great in.

Our only peeve was the leather belt. If she was going for a ‘kamar bandh’ look, a leather belt really wasn’t the best accessory to start with. We wished she had just gone without it, what about you?

  2. Oh my god – what beautiful sari!!! I said before and i’ll say again – this genelia is one to look out for, making some right decisions with recent appearances. Only the belt is so unnecessary and spoils the ensemble completely…. if i was at the event i’d cut some shears and cut off the damn belt even if it means getting arrested!

  3. Love genelia’s appearance. The sari is elegant, lovely blouse, and though the belt is godawful, she pulls the look so well.
Here’s a girl who can pull off western outfits and desigear. Me wanna see saree on international red carpets.

  4. I agree the belt isn’t working but on the other hand…Genelia is so pretty and the sari is elegant…I would overlook anything for that smile lol

  5. The belt and garish pink nail polish have to go. Pronto. I dislike the blouse…it has a certain cheap flavour to it. But I do love the deep purple bordered by the crimson and she looks good in those colours.

  6. Hmm… interesting sari. Genelia is a cutie pie but I don’t think she has the grace for a sari…. yet. maybe it’s her petite body frame and the sari (big blouse, lots of pleats) she chose requires a fuller figure. she still looks good, but not great. something is missing.

  7. Leather belt with a sari?? (Shudders) leave that aside, couldnt her make-up wali make sure her foundation doesnt look so cakey… THAT is a sure outfit ruinner in my book!

  8. Genelia is GORGEOUS. Love the blouse and the saree gives her more height! Somehow, i can never fault her…even with that horrendous belt. =|

  9. Glad to see a lovely saree without a trace of BLING. Even with the belt it is better than some of the jhatack sarees we’ve seen on celebs recently! Genelia is one of the pretty faces to watch out for. Her silver dress for the dance number was kinda ghastly though 🙂

  11. The belt is ghastly, but my god she looks stunning. I love that ‘purplish wine-red + bright red’ colour combo – it’s so unusual but it looks fabulous and she really makes it work. And that blouse…awesome! 🙂

  12. Love the colour and the blouse but very weird accessory with the leather belt. I wouldn’t dream of putting a sari and a leather belt together in a closet let alone on my person!

  13. Yep, she should have worn it without the belt..it looks so out of place and weird

But she does look verrrry beautiful in that deep red color. Hmm i think this is the first time i’ve seen her in desi clothes…it suits her well 🙂

  14. I think the reason Genelia’s hand is so awkwardly placed is because she’s trying to allow the pleats to fall back into place.

The belt is atrocious, but the sari is gorgeous. I don’t really like the blouse; it gives the outfit a costume-y feel.
