Genelia wore a bandhani sari embellished with parsi gara embroidery from Ashdeen and while I loved the sari itself, wasn’t digging the finishing touches here. The lace white hairnet was overkill and that necklace didn’t work with that neckline.

It looks like a gajra bun in the last pic.
Can’t decide which one I hate more the hairnet or that necklace .
As someone who grew up in Mumbai, I can totally see an old Parsi Auntie wearing that hairnet. I don’t love it but I do think Genelia was trying to stay on theme with the saree and the gara embroidery. I don’t love or hate the necklace. In all, I don’t think it’s a very bad look – there’s some coherence behind it.
Necklace and the hairdo a total let down but she more than makes it up by wearing a lovely saree!
The sari is elegant and I don’t mind the hair bun because it looks vintage.
Her make up is always very dated like stuck in the early 2000 with outlined lipsticks and the harsh upper eye make up.
