Gayatri wore a jersey Loewe dress with a gold choker and gold sandals to the opening of a luxury retail chain on Wednesday evening. Now, having spent a bomb on that Hermès Faubourg Birkin, she decided to sport it this outing but I didn’t think the bag worked with the rest of the outfit. But, the dress itself was a bit too slouchy for my taste.

I think the bag works fabulously. The shoes could have been better.

She’s a billionaire…it’s not a bomb for her. Sure, the styling choice is a bit strange but it’s not necessary to stress how she only felt the need to carry the bag because it’s expensive. In that case, you’ll have to make that comment about more than half the women you feature.
Bag aside, the dress works better on her than it would on most and her makeup/hair work well with the dress.
Calling out someone for having money but no style (or just not liking this particular style) isn’t automatically catty; it’s critique — especially if it’s coming from a place of aesthetic judgment, not spite.
She’s a billionaire, sure — but taste still isn’t sold at Hermès.
Call me old school but I still think it is. If money has nothing to do with style as you’re saying and I believe this, then why bring her wealth up in the first place? Seems contradictory. If a less wealthy woman was carrying this bag, doubt HHC would ever comment like this. Just because she’s loaded doesn’t mean we should view her style from a different lens.
And who said she was trying to buy ‘taste’ at Hermes? Just phrasing it like that is catty in itself. She has the money and so bought a bag she could afford-simple.
The fact that her flaunting this triggers people so much makes me thing the criticism is more personal, hence why I think it’s catty.
Oh..she has style, for sure! Check out all her previous appreciances. She dresses smart sophisticated for the most part. And even though this dress is slouchy , she carries it well and looks great in it.
This dress design was a rage in the early 2000s and I’m seeing such similar styles coming back all across the fashion brands.
She looks absolutely great and understated but classy. A very difficult thing! I feel this comes out mainly because she looks so comfortable and is not trying too hard, so the birkin is just coincidental and not the main focus . she is!!. More folks should adopt this approach

Agree with Payal. The colour tones of the bag are not harmonious with the dress at all. Idk the bag isn’t screaming it’s worth with such poor styling choices.
The eyeshadow matches the bag. Duh. That is supposed to pull the look together.

I like her styling choices- shows rich, old money w/o show-offy.
The bag, however, does not work here – competing neutrals; should have been saved for another outing.
