In Tory Burch

The Met Gala is underway as I type up this post and the theme for this year is ‘Manus x Machina: Fashion In Age Age Of Technology‘. Given the theme, we are bound to see some very interesting gowns this year but Ms. Pinto who was Tory Burch’s muse went more on the simple side.

While she did look elegant, I did feel a bit underwhelmed. Maybe because of the make-up. It seems to wash her out. This is her second Met Gala appearance, her first being the 2010 one and yet again we see her in white. I really would’ve thought she would do color on the red carpet.

  1. Totally underwhelming! She should have stayed at home!

When presented with such a great opportunity to attend such an event i can’t understand why she wouldn’t put in more effort!

  2. It looks like 2 different gowns…1st set of pics dont show the dark stone at the centre of each rectangles, as seen in the second set of pics.

  3. very lackluster… considering Frieda’s generally effortless style, the gown, fit and makeup is just so not her! Looks like she had to drag herself to the event and decided to dress in a hurry!

  4. The more I look at her hair, it reminds me of oiling your hair on Sunday morning, tying it up in a knot to get around the household chores!

  5. That is a singularly weirdly-fitting gown. There’s a lady standing behind Ms. Pinto in white, that seems to be a way more interesting outfit.

  6. What a snore.
Personally I feel the Frieda ship has sailed, but even if it hadn’t, this look is totally dead in the water.
The whole bunch of outfits this year was quite boring… Like everyone got a mirror work/ latex/ shiny silver memo from la Wintour. The exception being Claire Danes who was *so* stunning in her couture x machina gown.

  7. I think the commenters here should look at all the other attendees. Freida’s image has always been about elegance and simplicity. She looks beautiful and does stand out in that weird albeit wonderful scene. And the gown does stay true to the theme – futuristic priestess.

  8. While I can see the futuristic look they’re going for, very minimalistic ect. However Frieda is not right for this gown, would’ve looked better on a tall model type. She usually looks way better than this. Very boring.

  9. I find Freida’s fashion choices have become so insignificant . Always under whelming. This look is case in point. Mindy’s dress was way better. She needs a new stylist or go back to the earlier one.

  10. Nah. This would have looked good on a model body or one a bangin body. 😛 Definitely not for her, it is like a tennis court on her. lol.
