At The Met Gala

How we look forward to Met Gala! *Heaven*

Ms. Pinto’s appearance in Chanel couture at the Met Gala was bit of a letdown; so anti-climatic. This gown needed to be worn by someone who really could work it… Freida sure couldn’t. Wish she had stuck to a prettier (and safer) gown and left this one for someone like Dello Russo or Kruger.

P.S Blake Lively was in Chanel too and we absolutely loved her look! Is it just us or does a quick look at the gown remind you of a sari as well? Love!

are we looking at the same picture? 🙂
    j/k
i guess that’s exactly why fashion is subjective

I think she looks INCREDIBLE and completely pulls it off

like a sexy but sophisticated pin up girl
    Woot
(and yes i am a perfectly straight girl that just appreciates beauty)

  3. That’s exactly what i thought when i saw Blake! It looks very much like a sari-inspired gown! nice!

Freida should have tied a large bow instead of that silly slim ribbon tie! looks tacky! meh

  4. Freida’s hair did not suit the dress. That dress was made for Gwen Stefani. Freida does not have the edge to pull it off.

Sabrina, I believe that is British model Jordann Dunn behind Blake. Jordann looks lovely in that orange. HHC Girls, can you confirm?

HHC, did you find pics of Lakshmi Menon, Prabal Gurung or Rachel Roy at the event?

  5. I think Freida looks absolutely GORGEOUS!! She has more confidence on the red carpet now to carry of coutures and even though the dress is a little tricky, she totally carries it off!! LOVE LOVE!! 😀

  6. Freida still looks great! I think she is making a conscious effort to move away from pretty dresses to more fashion forward and interesting outfits that will be talked about. I admire that she is not playing it safe all the time.

  7. I rather like Freida! Appreciate her switching the tie for a narrow one… and I like the masculine/feminine contrast, with the bright lips and beachy waves. Agree, someone edgier wouldn’t have split opinions so obviously, but I like it that she isn’t sticking to pretty girly gowns.

  8. P&P, I’m presuming you meant ADR, it’s Anna Dello Russo as far as i know, not della.. it was probably just a typo, though..

  11. gosh, whats happening to freida – this is why they say wear what suits you and it instantly turns into a trend! She should just stick to her old style – no offense here but her face with the red lipstick and the hair looks bigger than her body.

  14. I think if anyone could have pulled it off its Freida and she is working it.
Russo generally looks like a nightmare and Pinto a dream, so no contest there. Diana Kruger may be, but Freida is wearing the heck out of it.

  15. I completely disagree with you guys. Freida looks stunning. I actually loved the dress, thought it was edgy, and I thought she pulled it off too. Blake’s dress is also gorgeous – and saree-inspired I’m sure – but I actually prefer Freida’s. I think it was a bold move on her part and I think she pulled it off.

  16. Am I the only person that thinks that this sari-inspired dress on Blake Lively is just ridiculous? It looks half dress, half sari and does not do a good job being put together.

And again disagree, I think Freida looked awesome in this outfit! The hair, the dark red lips, everything works for her in this look.

  17. I think Freida looks okay. She’s done much much better.

Somehow, I just find Blake’s outfit…weird. It looks really strang to me. And don’t like this red hair on her. The red hair plus what I think is a tan makes her look older than she is
