Freida on Glamour US:(Un)Covered

Today we’ve just been bombarded with magazine covers. Last but not the least is Freida (in Peter Som with Louis Vuitton Swarovski rings) on one of the three Glamour US’s May covers. The others featuring Ashley Greene and Emma Stone.

While the cover is cute, we are obsessing over the maroon-ey red lips against the white Prabal Gurung number.

    • I am glad you said that because I was thinking of exactly the same thing. To be quite honest, I have never quite understood Hollywood’s fascination with Pinto. Without makeup, she is no different from the girl next door.

  2. They really have to be careful with Freida because her body can look really young, whereas her face – if the makeup/lighting is too harsh – can photograph really old. I think in this case, nothing’s working for her, which is a pity, because she’s a pretty girl.

  3. Not feeling this. She looks very average and somewhat tired. Definitely not cover-worthy. I’ve seen the rest of the pictures in this shoot and none of them impress either.

  6. Cover is badly done. That top and bottom wear(whatever that is) is pretty ugly. Second pic does not even look like her. The dress is pretty.

  7. Its funny, many American fashion blogs have covered Freida’s Glamour cover, and the comments on those blogs vs this one couldn’t be more different! Everyone commenting there, who I’m assuming are Americans, absolutely love the cover and Freida, and seem to be hatin on Ashley Greene and Emma Stone’s covers, but this blog which seems to have mostly Desi readers, has comments bashing this cover and Freida.

I agree with most of the comments on this site though! I don’t understand Hollywood’s fascination with her.

    • Dear ZAZA fashion is a Global phenomenon and we get it there in India, which is a global country. There is no other country here which is as rich as India in terms of culture and heritage and we have a voice as well which at this time it is syn a big no to this cover and if it is desi to u then i think we all are proud to b Desi. We r not Americans we r Indians n we hv our own voice n choice and fashion always get inspired frm our voice so what if it is desi.

      • Um…why the patriotic speech? ZAZA wasn’t putting you down, he was supporting you. Why would you think that “Desi” was an insult when he/she said it? I’ll never understand that about the “Argumentative Indian” – somebody said “Americans said this about the cover and Indians said that and I agree with the Indians” and the Indian gets angry? Relax, contrary to popular opinion here in India, the West does not hate us and hasten to put us down. There’s no need to be so defensive all the time.

  8. Im an Indian Girl, i find freida looks gorgeous and can carry off absolutely anything…… any outfit any designer with panache.

Indians have an obsession for fair skin, and since freida is not fair Indians dont find her good looking period.

    • I agree with you Anne – and with shimsham who posted something similar right above you – Freida is beautiful. People keep saying she looks like any other girl in India but I moved here from the States 12 years ago and I still haven’t come across anyone who could be mistaken for her. I don’t like what she’s wearing but that’s not her fault. She’s done well for herself and good for her!
