Freida at Cannes 2013: The Great Gatsby Screening

Freida attended the red carpet on day one of Cannes 2013 wearing a custom Gucci. The hot pink halter gown featured a beaded belt that was the highlight of the gown but also competing for attention were the sandals.

This gown had me at the color but I would’ve preferred to see studs on her. A braided updo side bun, jewellery from Chopard finished out her look.

The sketch for Freida’s look has her in a romantic side-swept do. Would you have liked to see her in that?

  1. The first thing that struck me was great color, lovely gown but don’t like the hair, then I saw the sketch….so hate the hair, which she had gone with that look.

  2. Considering it is the Great Gatsby premiere, I like the hairstyle. She has given a retro vibe to the Gucci sketch. The colour looks great on her, but the top part doesn’t fit that well.

  3. Something is off about the look. It doesn’t suit her the way it should. It actually looks better in the sketch, which is not a good thing, is it? Also is it only me who thinks the pink clashes with the red of the carpet?

  4. The only thing I’d definitely change with this look is the makeup, especially the lip color. I’d go for something more young and fresh. I’d even go for a bright pink lip!

  5. Colour is her winning card, but that hair looks dam too funny , its meant for fancy dress competition, also her face doesn’t have global appeal , to be honest.

      • Global appeal? She doesn’t look white? Isn’t light skinned? But she is Indian!!
I wish my laptop would block ignorant comments.

coming back to the dress, I love the pink color but there is nothing fresh in the way she is wearing it. The heels and the belt are a bit too much bling and there is way too much fabric going on in the chest area. Not flattering at all.

        • hi there, i don’t mean here by talking abt white skinned women, like lakshmi menon , ash , ujjwala raut or sonam have so wide range of appeal, its subjective although ,for L’Oreal its business at the end of d day ……….for sure she doesn’t fit to be face of brand!!!!! and for them its money!

  6. the make up is clashing with the colour of the dress, otherwise, everything else is good. really fab choice of dress – classy and fun.

  7. beautiful gown, terrible hair, make up and jewelry. The belt is the jewelry, at most she should have worn stud earrings. Hate, hate the hair. She looks like a medieval roman soldier.

  8. She looks lovely and all but someone tell me why we never see her in Indian clothes? It seems like she does not want to embrace her heritage or mess with her hollywood image especially in an international event. What gives?

  9. Julian Moore was sporting the hair-style in the Gucci sketch 🙂

The Loreal make-up is disappointing yet again!! Both Sonam and Freida has pronounced dark circles thanks to Loreal !

  10. Love the colour and how it’s flowing. Hair down would have looked way better. Frida doesn’t light up that red carpet like she used to

  11. Completely agree! Hairstyle should have been softer & shoes were competing with the dress and hair as well. Those shoes deserved to shine with a dress that was more simplistic in a different color.

  12. Hair is adisaster. Although the gown is the perfect color for her, it makes her look like she doesn’t have a neck. Pretty pink turtle.

  13. nice! yes this gown could do with some studs.. and the hair open with soft waves as in the sketch does give it that romantic and flowy look and i think that would look softer and nice for this gown..
