  1. Are you serious? That dress is fugly.

Is it even a dress or just an oversized t-shirt with so cheap looking design. Hell I would not even wear this at the beach.

  2. I love that dress with all the accessories. I wish I could wear t-shirt dresses, but I’m too short. 🙁

It’s nice to see Freida out and about, I read that she was with Dev Patel.

  3. preeths – i think a lot of celebrities wear sunnies at night because of all the flashes from the paparazzi cameras

i like that freida wears such inexpensive stuff and still makes it look great

  4. what are you guys talking about?! I agree with Carol…this dress needs to be for staying in doors…it’s quite ghastly. The length and material is so off–ends up looking quite tacky…that being said her smile helps her lookswise…

  5. As much as I like Freida, I have to agree with Carol. The “dress” does look like an over-sized T-shirt and not a pretty one at that. The belt that Freida is sporting looks weird with the whole ensemble. I think she could have done better.

  6. Oh come on people! The dress looks cute….
Celebrities need not always wear branded stuff…
I love it when they pair inexpensive stuff with expensive stuff… That is a true fashionista!!!!!

  7. Now that’s a fashionista! Make a cheap dress look trendy! I would have liked a different belt but she still looks good…and that smile…lights up everything!

  8. bang on Ashi, m surprised no one else knows that dresses which look like over sized T’s r in!! That’s the whole point of these dresses! one does not have to wear perfectly cut dresses all the time..that look is so 1900’s…

  9. I love this dress. Thanks a lot for the link. I am totally buying this for my coming birthday and now I can spend all the extra money partying all night!

  10. No offense but , PnP I don’t think u would have the same opinion if say SUCHITRA PILLAI wore the same ensemble!! I like the dress but Frieda just does not pull it off .. Wen ever u wear a shirt dress or any dress without a definite silhouette.. u need a wide belt in this case to give it some shape .. She is already stick thin and with that awful belt its like the dress is falling off her… That belt totally ruins the dress.. and not a big fan of those shades either they look like old world Ray-Ban’s like my father had wen i was little…. Lol !!!!!!

  11. It’s a great night-shirt. But no, I wouldn’t spend even 15 bucks on this. Also, really… I doubt that the paparazzi is surrounding her in NY and she needs to wear sunglasses in the evening!

  12. she looks good, and i like the belt too. it is dressy, yet understated, and converts the t-shirt into a dress. also like her accessories, the clutch and wrap : perfect for a cool evening in nyc.

  13. I would not buy this,… Not a great looking dress/Tee
Does not appeal to me. And Freida’s “Oh! I am so avant garde-that I can wear a $15 Tee and make it look like $1500 dress” does not work. It does look its price.I have few stuff in my closet thats about that price, but nothing this ghastly. This doesnot work for Freida. Its made for a girl with endless legs and an edgy style. Freida sugar coats everything, which me no likey. The glasses really ruin it for me, and the belt, and the shoes…Oh well, everything is wrong with it.
Also I am tired of the definition of “fashion” that you “mix and match between inexpensive and expensive stuff, then you are a true fashionista”. Really? If thats the only formula, then everyone would be one. Just buy what the hell you feel like, just make sure when you get out of the house, no one should be able to take their eyes off of you( in a good way). I think its about finding individuality and expressing your personality.Things don’t work themselves, one has to make them work.

  14. I think this shows u that Freida is not a fashionista- she looks like any high school girl in NY. I have no problems with the dress- could have been cute- but the sunglasses are horrible, the clutch looks tacky and the shoes are UGLY. i think she could have styled it much better if she had worn black sandals and a thicker belt….she looks like a teenager going through her awkward phase. a beautiful woman undoubtedly…but still

  15. why is no one talking about the fugly earrings!!
NO celebrity in thier right mind would be caught dead wearing them with a dress(even if it is a shirt dress!)
and that is not saying anything about that awful, tacky belt

Actually, there are videos from this night and there are tons of paparazzi around them.

  17. First off, just because Freida was a one day wonder, she is no fashionista. The credit goes to the stylist. Cinderella’s carriage has turned to pumpkin. The emperor is wearing terrible clothing. Tacky, terrible, and LOUD! She could have thrown out the accessories-the belt, the tacky red sandals, the aviators, the clutch, the stole, stayed with the dress.it would have been a good day. The only accessory in her favor is her wide smile. That is the winner.

  18. Looks like a oversize tee one would wear to bed…
Its definitely not flattering but it does make her look uber skinny and flat on top. It need not cost $$$ but it need not be a night tee either

  19. @G Haha I don’t think Freida Pinto considers herself a fashionista…she had a stylist during her slumdog award days and she doesn’t now.

And if you just look at her she looks nice in this picture. I personally find that the earrings stick out and she could have done without them, but the dress belt shoes all look fine, I don’t know what the big deal is.

  20. @ mita – And Freida’s “Oh! I am so avant garde-that I can wear a $15 Tee and make it look like $1500 dress” does not work

I’m pretty sure she isn’t attempting to be ‘avant garde’ – and I’m also pretty sure she can’t AFFORD to wear super expensive clothes all the time yet. Leave her alone!

hmmm so u mean she would look better if she was walkin in NY barefoot wearing just a tee

okay, she has done just one movie YET. give her some time. whether she stays up to the hype or not, only time will tell, but dont dismiss her so 🙂

and yea.. its ONE HIT WONDER, not one day wonder 😛

Not at all a bad idea…you see so much was made of her style and fashion, and her achievements and such. A lot of it goes toward the anon stylist. The credit the wearer gets is immense. If the stylist does not do the job right, then the wearer is pulled down for not having the style and such. This looks like a sleep shirt in the walmart deep discount aisle. Just because Frieda is wearing it does not make it so message worthy is my point. Even on the model far right it looks terrible. Since this is a website on fashion, and much ado was made in all mags desi and abroad on freida’s fashion style, left to her own, she would do well to play up the smile and leave the accessories behind. Again, preeths, not a bad idea at all…

  24. umm the anon stylist is george kotsiopoulos
    hes quite well known

moreover, why is it a crime if one has a stylist? as long as the wearer carries the clothes well and does justice?

everyone on this site is like “yea…she dresses well, BUT oh she has a stylist!” OR “ooo she dresses so well without a stylist, i gotta give it to this girl”

no stylist in the world can get you a personality no matter what designer threads he/she dons you in :)))

  25. @preeths; this is not a war zone, but a place for fashionpinions. After this pic, I felt the absence of George Kotsiopolos. This outfit is a mishmash, and yes, whatever threads a person dons, and even more and more of it, should not hide the personality. That is why she could have ditched all the tchatchkes and kept only the smile. Besides, why should this be a sore point for you? I am airing my opinion, not stating a fact. I still think this is a particularly loud, immature mishmash. After all the chanels, choos, and other luxe offerings, when left to her own, it is walmart zindabad!

  26. and oh, you could work on a shoe string budget and look way better than the luxe editions. It just needs some fashion creativity!

  27. Awww, she looks cute and casual, I like the shirt dress (so comfy<3). And puhleez she isn’t attending like a premiere or anything that she has to look all dolled up. We just get so used to seeing famous people all glammed up that we forget they’re normal humans. YES. My only problem is that why is she wearing sunglasses? And those earrings SO don’t gel with the rest of the outfit:/
