In Ferragamo

One word, Perfect. Freida looked amazing in Ferragamo at a photocall during Cannes Film Festival. Not a thing we’d change about this look.

  1. Is it alright to reveal midriffs if it’s freida or ferragamo?? In the past you’ve been hating on adult women with bellies hanging…

    • Still not a fan of midriff showing tops with denims, that hasn’t changed. This full-skirt with cropped look however works and Freida looks great!

    • exactly my thoughts… just because its a freida / ferragamo, does the bare midriff work?
Though must say I like the skirt and would have liked the top too if were a bit longer

  2. Uhh… really? It seems more like a throwback to the garish Bollywood of the ’80s. I fail to understand the fuss over this girl!!

  3. She does look incredible

She has been doing SO well at Cannes so far!

WHY oh why is there so much Frieda-hatred among the commenters on this blog? it’s bizarre
Every time there is at least one that says “what’s the big deal about her”. jeez

You may not like her but at least give credit where credit is due

    • I agree with you, I’m not a fan of her as an actress, but have to admit she has been looking amazing at the cannes this year.

Every outfit including this one has worked, and she is changing it up every time.

Can’t wait to see what she wears next.

As for the midrift showing, well at the mo it is “fashionable” so it works, personally not a fan but she makes this outfit work, and there is just something about the look that even I would love to wear it in a sunny location 🙂

  4. really?! i don’t like this look at all. hate the cropped top and the awkward skirt length. the shoes look bad too. all in all, a VERY shoddy look – something out of a 90s Hindi movie.

    • I agree. I dont understand the fuss about this look at all. Something is really off and she ends up looking really frumpy. I usually enjoy her sartorial picks but not feeling her at cannes this year. Waiting for ash!

  5. Totally agree with you SM! I’m on team “what’s the big deal about her” and why is she even famous? There are far better actresses and far better looking women in India. Back to the point, I really think the top is ill fitting and the outfit is not chic at all.

    • There might be” far better looking women in India” but the ones made famous by Bollywood in their attempt to conform to Caucasian standards of beauty end up whitening their skin, bleaching their hair and wearing light contacts thus losing out on the “Indian ness” the West typically looks for. I’m sure they’d be far less enamoured of Freida if she decides to bleach her skin, hair etc.

      • Could not have said it better ,myself, Mary! All the haters accustomed to looking up to Caucasian standards of beauty as the ideal cannot fathom the west’s fascination with Freida.

        • Frieda is a smart and sensible girl and has been doing well and with her sensibility will continue doing well.
But the excuse that people often use as ‘west’s fascination for her’, the moment one word is spoken against her ..is lame..no one is fascinated , like many other actress who people like and work but aren’t really the gorgeous category.
Regular Americans find her very very normal and many Latinos ( i live around them) dont even consider her good looking by Latino standards…
But as hollywood has it the gorgeous ones need not work all the time and simple looks do..but seriously their is no wow factor for most Americans as far Frieda is considered. So please stop putting down indian attitude regarding Frieda..most indians like her and almost all of the world is obsessed with good looks of certain types and has its biases…we are not alone in it…

    • Westerners love her look. We need to lose the Indian standards for beauty , she has immense international appeal…. do you know of anyone else who can work any look as well as her….

The fact of the matter is that the average indian woman is gorgeous, we indians dont see it that way. Westerners love the average brown girl (avg for us)…

she has great bones, great confidence and great sass…

  6. Hey people don’t let your dislike get in the way, there is a distinct strain of green in comments on Ms Pinto here. And its been that way since she hit the big time. The trolls are now everywhere, even on go fug.

I think its pretty much acknowledged that Ms Pinto knows how to work an outfit. Sometimes she gets it wrong, as anyone can, but this is not one of those occasions.

    • so true:)- all thaat green is cos she’s not the typical gorgeous, bollywood, Miss India type face and body..kinda how did my plain jane neighbour end up getting all this attention??

  7. Horrible. It maybe haute couture but it’s not aesthetically pleasing at all. Everything about this is so bad. I am sure you has made it to worst dressed in People’s and In Style already.

  8. That top, because of its fitting (loose), looks like an oversized bib! Not digging the shoes either. Neck up, she looks absolutely fabulous. There’s this twinkle in her eye and a freshness to her smile that is very appealing.

  9. She looks beautiful! And come on people, she beat hundreds for that role is Slumdog – she does deserve this. If those prettier girls you talk about had deserved the role, then they would be here today. Or maybe they wouldn’t have. Even if Slumdog was a surprise hit, it takes an intelligent woman to capitalize on that.

  10. can’t hold back anymore. I just have to ask. Is Miss F’s PR guy paying you to write the best about her always? That pink dress she wore earlier at Canne made her look like a candy oompa loompa and that’s not just me. It’s the prevalent opinion in the fashion world!

You guys hate on some ALL the time, and then there are some who can DO NO wrong. What’s going on??

  11. Freida has dared to be different & hence it’s taking a little time to get used to her outfit. I’m in two minds about this look.

  12. PS: I am just hating on her outfit not her. I love Frieda and I love the way she carries herself even in this fugly dress. She has this certain down-to-earthness that no Bollywood actress has.

  13. She looks so pretty! I adore her..

And yes there is too much of Freida hatred. Infact just before yesterday, I decided to do a blog post completely on her..
And now that I’ve looked at the comments here I’m convinced! Should be up by tomorrow!

  14. Jeez, the list of untalented people who are famous in Bollywood is pretty darn long. Believe me, Freida has way more reason to be famous then random people who keep lurking around for no rhyme or reason.

I am on the fence about the bare mid driff. It isn’t tacky like the usual belly baring and I really the colours and the fitting. And for once the shoes look great

  15. dont like such midriff bearing attire.
but the attire looks better on the model as the fitting is better on her – the way the top fits around the neck, the way the skirt falls.

  16. I suspect these “why is she even famous” people might be jealous B-wood actresses. Americans and Europeans seem to think she is beautiful (and so do I and many of the Indians here). There is nothing special to the western eye about Katrina, Kareena, and the like – if there was, they would be working in the West.

  17. This looks awful .. doesnt matter it is ferragamo .. midriff showing doesnt work for me. She looks like a little girl in chaniya choli that you get in Gujarat 😉

  18. She’s a very pretty girl but I don’t like this outfit on her. There’s something odd about the top. Perhaps the fitting.
