In Arpita Mehta

Comment image 20

Both Disha and Alaya picked printed Arpita Mehta lehengas to wear to a recent Diwali party. Wearing dupattas around their arms, both ladies rounded out the look with some traditional jewelry. Are you drawn to one look more than the other? Or like us, are you inclined to say neither in particular?

  1. why are the bollywood ladies doing this to themseleves ?
they seem to be conditioned from all around them to cater to the demand to showmore skin, display their well maintained bodies , than to dress elegantly.
Please break out of this and respect your own

    • Precisely what I thought… This young brigade, they’ve chosen to be actresses and they’ve yet to prove themselves in that field… Why are they just out to grab eyeballs at any cost?

  2. As pretty as they look, it’s hardly anything new from both, the same ole push up bra tops…I do like the colour of Disha’s lehenga though..

  3. What’s wrong with all these celebrities, their stylists and the designers this Diwali? Are the designers running out of fabrics, is that the reason for these barely there blouses? Looks like everyone is out to outdo each other over who can look the tackiest!

  4. I actually like these looks(started to ignore bra blouses because that looks to be their new normal anyway) , specially Alaya’s. At least the lehengas look to be festive, simple georgette skirts and not the bling overload reception/wedding types.

  5. Both are ugly lehangas but Alaya looks better because she doesn’t have tons of highlighter and bronzer on herself & not trying hard to look sexy unlike Disha

  6. So tired seeing the “lehengafest” last couple of days. Saree sightings have been no better with push up bra blouses and wierd pallus!

How I wish some celeb wears a beautiful kanjeevaram, Banarasi or Paithani with no frills blouse and traditional jewellery for a change! Sigh!!!

  7. I have questions:
    1. Why is almost no one wearing a nice silk saree or a pretty salwar kameez? Its Diwali and not their own wedding function
    2. Do these guys never repeat outfits? Its scary how no one seems to have repeated a Diwali outfit from earlier.. What kind of mindless consumption is this?

I wore two of my older outfits for both the Diwali functions I attended and no one seemed to care or mind.

    • They get free clothes from their favorite “designers”. Good of you to reuse! Absolutely no reason not to, we aren’t celebs and no one but you remembers what you wore last Diwali 😉

  8. Sooo these days lehenga = verrry bare midriff and itty bitty choli? All the outfits in the past few posts have been so uninspired and repetitive. Not one creative or interesting look. They all look the same, stand and smile the same. Twinkle and Neha were beautiful in sarees, the rest were all forgettable. I’m so done with this overly curated, identical wardrobe travesty.

  9. Oh no, Alaya! Not you too!

The color looks delish on Alaya and she looks better than most would in these outfits.

P.s: Someone pls steal all the body bronzer and highlighter from Bollytown and burn them!

    • Same! I had requested for a sighting of her in one of the comments. Hope they post her looks soon. She looked divine in an all-silver outfit on Insta.

    • She actually looked really great in her silver Anavila sari – pic she shared on IG.
Kareena looked great in her kurtas too.

As to the rest, agree with comment above, that we really need a palate cleanser. Did a memo go out that the dress code for this Diwali is lehengas with bra-tops?
Every single one of them has been a variation of this – no individuality.

  10. How in the world is any of these. What is designer. Even I can get my local tailor to stitch these clothes if I go to the local wholesale market and pick some fabric. He would also offer to embroider them. Every designer looks like one other. There is no creativity just inflated price tags.
