Diana did a photoshoot and spoke at the India Pavilion on Saturday at Cannes 2026 wearing a gold stitched sari set from Manish Malhotra that came with a boxy jacket and a logo belt. I think anyone else would look comical in this outfit but Ms. Penty looked regal in it.

In my view, what Diana has, and is largely lacking in Bollywood crowd is poise and a certain grace. I could also say sophistication, but that might be misconstrued as being elitist. But you know, let’s call it what it is.

Manish Malhotra is not a designer that deserves to grace international red carpets. This piece is purely redeemed by Diana and Diana alone. She lends it the sleek high fashion chutzpah. On anyone else this would look exactly like a Manish Malhotra.
