Dia tied the knot with Vaibhav Rekhi on Monday in a close-knit ceremony attended by close family and friends. The bride wore a red benarasi sari from Raw Mango with jewellery from Tyaani.

Our congratulations to the newly-weds.

  1. She looks lovely!
Kudos to another bride embracing traditional weaves on her wedding day.

Although does anyone know how Raw Mango treats their artisan partners? I have heard stories about most designers stealing designs from artisans, not paying a fair wages and forcing unrealistic deadlines etc.

I love that so many designers are now trying to revive different traditional weaves and I personally love Raw Mango as a brand but I would much prefer to buy directly from an artisan even though it might be lacking a fashion designer’s touch.

    • You’ll get the best of weaves at non designer houses.. traditional, ages old shops in smaller cities. Great stuff, genuine, price perfect. Raw mango n it’s likes are a rip off of skill.

      • Totally agree! I had a chance to travel to some small villages near Hyderabad, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat and while I picked up really great pieces from all the artisans and weavers I met they all shared sad stories about their experiences with various designers.

    • So, I have worked with the weavers in Chanderi in Madhya Pradesh that Raw Mango collaborates with since Chanderi is in Ashoknagar, which is part of former Lok Sabha MP Jyotiraditya Scindia’s Guna constituency. I can’t speak for other designers, but Sanjay Garg has really empowered and emboldened the local weavers’ economy. A number of them were sending their children into other professions, which would have likely led to the art form dying, but their collaboration with Raw Mango has given them a wider audience and allowed them to preserve traditions 🙂 Can’t speak for other designers, but just wanted to provide my two cents here 🙂

  3. Very very pretty. Something about the look is both simple and grand at the same time. Maybe its the gorgeous saree or the jewellery, but this is a bridal look that I absolutely adore.
    Congratulations to the newlyweds!
