Deepika on Vogue India: (Un)Covered

Comment image 44

Ms. Padukone graces the cover of the June edition of Vogue wearing a Tod‘s shirt, Turquoise and Gold bottoms and a diamond and emerald necklace.

Does she look insanely hot? Absolutely.

Do we think this cover comes too soon after the last one (the September issue.)? Absolutely.

  1. She looks sexy. I don’t see why this is cover worthy though. Her facial expressions remind me of Priyanka. I don’t know why.

  2. I think she looks great but I might be in the minority here that thinks this cover is nothing much to speak about….contrived although thats how fashion magazines work. Much prefer the Harper’s Bazaar one! Lakshmi Menon for the first time…PnP please feature that one! Much more interesting.

  3. Are you guys kidding me ? she looks very average. Her makeup is bad and she has no curves at all.
Also, I am so sick of seeing her on every other Vogue issue. Having Vogue’s creative director as her personal stylist certainly doesn’t warrant her being on the cover so often.

      • Jealous of what ?
You might be a DP loyalist but take it down a notch. We all have a right to express our opinions. I am just saying it is getting monotonous seeing her on every other Vogue cover.
        P.S I am a girl, not a man or men either 🙂

  4. Isn’t Vogue a fashion magazine? I thought this was a Cosmo cover.

On a side note, as hot as she looks in the cover, I want to see some clothes. Not her various states of undress.

  5. I don’t get it; september was nearly nine months ago. A leading actress does not get a vogue cover at least once a year? If there were more covers since September, I take my words back, but sometimes I feel like the negative comments are not warranted

  6. Ill take Lakshmi Menon’s cover over this any day. Now ….thats international super model material. That necklace is so very off. Swimwear meets wedding jewelry meets business shirt. SMH. Meh.

  7. What does “this cover comes too soon after the last one (the September issue )” mean? Too soon for what? If that was her last Vogue cover, then it’s months later now, she is an A lister and an incredible model as well, and the two covers look vastly different. No idea why you would point out the September issue! That apart, love the green and white combo on the cover, but that bottom – are those underpants, bikini bottom what? Deepika is bringing it but this does not do justice to her gorgeous face.
P.S. She looks a lot like Camila Alves here.

  8. It’s true that Deepika is a leading and beautiful actress but the frequency of her Vogue covers are a bit tiresome and feels like overkill. There are other actresses in the film industry as well. The International edition of Vogue magazines are more professional (better styling as well) and feature diverse people on their covers more often..

  9. i think there are other women who can be considered 4 the cover story. why take Dips, like…every other time??(we get it!u hav Anaita ) but there are some strong Indian women (non-actors) that deserve the “Vogue treatment”! would love to see new faces!!
    p.s. i <3 vogue 😀

  10. One of the best cover shoots of Vogue. After Vogue’s last disastrous cover with Kareena Kapoor, Vogue is now back with a bang with hotness Deepika Padukone and she just blew me! Her eyes, her skin, her body…just wow! One thing i keep wondering about this woman is her versatility when it comes to her looks. She can carry diverse looks and clothes amazingly well.

Vogue’s best covers feature her. This one is amazing. I will buy it and frame it.

  11. P&P – You guys are entitled to your opinion when it comes to the fashion choices that a magazine makes but are you not venturing into another domain when you question any other decision that they make? How is a fashion blog concerned about the variety you see on Vogue’s covers? Are you critiquing the magazine? For all you care – it could be anybody on the cover for all the 12 months and being a fashion blog, only that should matter.

P.S – This is not about the person on the cover, just that personal opinions on non-related subject matters bring down the integrity of a blog.

  12. Quantity (of appearances) is irrelevant, when the quality is so above par!! Fab cover & Deepika is just uber HOT! While super models get the body language right, the intensity in expressions rarely comes across well – But Deepika nails both splendidly, body language & expression. Agree, with a previous comment, there is a resemblance to Camila Alves here..

  13. I don’t get this constant bashing attitude on this blog. If P&P think it’s frequent, it’s their opinion. Why does everyone have to over react?

  15. Your right vogue is just biased and they only use their friends. I’m sick on seeing deepika and karreena. And Katrina , do we have no indian models. Does it have to be bolloywood.

  16. I’ve hated most of the Vogue covers off late, but this one tops the list. I can totally believe that people may think this is cool, considering one of the biggest fashion magazines in our country is selling this in the name of fashion ! And what the hell is that necklace and those ugly ass hot shorts? So bad! I think Vogue needs a new team altogether!
