In Sabyasachi

At the 3D trailer unveiling of Padmavati, leading lady Deepika was seen in a fitted kurta churidar look by Sabyasachi paired with metallic Louboutin slingbacks and statement Amrapali earrings.

While at the event, the dupatta covered most of the kurta, one still got to see a bit of the embroidery courtesy of the stylist’s pictures prior to the event.

Love the suit on her but I wish the hairdo was different. I wonder if there is a mandate by the designer to always sport the middle-parted updo and small black bindi when wearing his creations.

  1. I find it a bit disconnected- red and green in earrings…pink lipstick …silver embroidery…white churidar( which is an eyesore)..n that severe hair.
    Not working.

  2. Hair do is not a much biggest problem in the look, its her white chudidar, such a beautiful black kurta is distracted by that white bottom

  3. How in the world does she look so tacky wearing a Sabyasachi suit? The fitting, the severe hair, the pink lipstick, green and red speckled jewellery…yikes…

    • Actually felt the same. Very filmy look. I only liked it for the fact that it is of straight cut n mid length! The same suit with relaxed fit n mandarin collar would have looked classy!

      • Agree with both of you. The kurta looks like a black tank top worn with white leggings and covered with a dupatta. The earrings look weird / odd / and out of place. The oily chapta hair. Nothing is working here.

  4. I think in odd way Deepika looks boxy. A slender rectangular box…. like the ones one keeps good sunglasses. Very stiff. Deepika always looks starched hair to toe.

  5. Well, the middle partitioned hair and a small black bindi is part of a Sabya look – something that goes flawlessly with his styling aesthetics. – and only a hard core Sabya fan like me can vouch for this. having said this. But to be honest, I didn’t really care for this outfit 🙁

  6. The make up looks oily to me
And the whole design is a decade old with the fitted Kameez and white bottom.
    And ugh that hairstyle .
Such a gorgeous woman… can do so much better.

  7. Such a disconnected look. The kurta itself is nothing great. We get loads of better ones in Madina Bazaar. The white churidar, the ear rings, makeup… ruined the entirelook.

  8. White churidaar seems to be the problem..may be an off white one or a black one would have suited better..Hair do, to me, looks fine though..

  9. She looks great, I don’t have any problem with her hair. It lets the beautiful earrings shine. The problem is the stark white chudidaar – it feels like she cudn’t find the matching chudidaar and ended up wearing generic white ones that she had.

  10. She looks amazing. This hairstyle helps to modernize the very retro look. The top fits her like a glove. It’s just nice for a trailer launch, not too much not too little.

  11. that white churidar is an eye sore, as are those massive earrings (my ear lobes are aching in sympathy)
her stylist really knows how to make her look lack lustre, which is a feat in itself!
