At the Indian Sports Honours awards event, Deepika was seen in a black sari by Sabyasachi paired with a full-sleeve blouse. Given that the designer likes to have the leading ladies wear heavy jewellery as well, the relatively simpler earrings here came as quite a surprise. Having said that though, the novelty of this “Sabya” look (the sari/hairdo/full-sleeveblouse combo) has worn off for me so can’t say am loving it.

It’s a classic look and she looks lovely. I’m hoping this is a sabya that’s a part of her personal collection that she’s re-wearing coz I feel like I’ve seen her in it before!
Looks super severe head to toe and ages her severely. Especially the black full sleeves, tight hair and no bindi looks very strict and stiff. begging for a bit more color or any semblance of style. Rare miss for DP

These pictures are terrible and dnt do her justice. Saw some videos and pics in better lighting and she looks ethereal. Happy that she kept it simple and didn’t go OTT with the jewellery or want to make a fashion statement given this was a sports event
It may not be novel, but c’mon, nothing is novel anymore. And we’ve seen what has happened to sarees in the effort to make them novel. I’d take this any day over the half-boob drapes paired with bras.

Personally I like when seasonal changes are captured in sartorial choices. Even through there might not be 4 seasons everywhere, but the mood still naturally veers towards certain colour palates during certain times of the year. Deepika, looks good in all colours. Wish she cued up a more ‘fresh’ and vibrant look for this spring event.
