Deepika on Verve:(Un)Covered

The Alpana & Neeraj A/W 2011 collection was one of our favorites from WLIFW and we aren’t the only ones. Verve India scooped up the strapless dress for its cover featuring Deepika.

I love how gorgeous Deepika looks, especially the maroon lips which I have no complains against.

  1. Really P & P maroon lips in this hot weather and with all other busy things on with the dress…sometimes have to question your taste..it is an edgy look and not for everyone i agree..but since your blog is for masses…needs some tunning up on your tastess..

    • i don’t see what is the relevance of season when we all know most of these sessions take place in a studio. plus, given that they are editorials, i think most people distinguish between a shoot and what they could (or would want to) emulate in real life. also, whatever happened to free thinking? i think payal was simply commenting that the lips look amazing. if you don’t agree, fine, but given the context of an editorial, i think it’s pretty silly to bring in the application of the lip colour to real life.

      • Since, you brought up the free thinking scenario..I am free to post my critic..for that matter..and it maybe editorial or regular reality session..at the end they are catering to the audience..who can think of trying this looking..and even buying that sort of dress. For the hot season, I mention because if they feeding the audience with lusty things..I am sure they are thinking they can buy this season and the season is summer..it is a personal reasoning..some may agree, some may dont..

And uhm, more than HALF of the stuff they show in magazines- no one ends up buying. Unless its mostly just high street. Because a two lakh Gaultier dress isn’t accessible to everyone. Fashion is about fun, and you’re right each opinion differs but perhaps what throws people off is how strongly you seem to blame two fashion bloggers for something someone else did. If you don’t like it, you’re free to express your opinion and that’s what the comment section is for. But don’t get all up in their face about it. It’s just uncalled for. And you’ll be surprised with just how many people can actually look good in this dress. Alpana and Neeraj are both phenomenal designers in my personal opinion. I mean, who knew Falguni and Shane Peacock would ever attract international celebrity clients but look at who’s wearing their dresses now From JLo to Kim Kardashian to Fergie to Nicki Minaj- everyone. And even Manish Aroras clothes aren’t particularly aiming at a larger spectrum of people, instead a very select few, and those select few (Katy Perry, Gaga, Nickie Minaj included) rock those dresses like no ones business. Just saying. Fashion is very subjective. Don’t come down too harsh on Priyanka and Payal for their opinion. Stick to yours and don’t show other people down. We all respect your opinion, it’s cool if you think the dress is fugly. I’m sure there’s a few more here who do too. And state it if you must. Just don’t get nasty about it. That’s all.
And I don’t mean to attack you.
          Xxo.

      • What is creative about this look?? She is wearing the same lip color as the model. Even the hair is similar.
She looks good and all, but no props for creativity.

    • This is good compared to other deepika padukone covers…i feel it still is mediocre at the creative level..the fierce look on her face is brought down by her pose, even doing injustice to the dress, makeup and theme.Thats just sad. im not surprised people expect her to smile here 🙂
