Deepika attended the Star Screen Awards wearing a one-shouldered black gown by Alex Perry. The actor recently got a hair cut which is probably why we finally got to see her sport a new hairdo as well. Having said that though, as statuesque as she looked in the gown, the makeup lets her down here. Dewy makeup and a bold red lip and this look had the potential to be va va voom.
As is, I am not liking the brown tone eye-shadow and lip color. You?

I agree with you! This is not the first time they have done this. Its always something not right with DP’s look for P&P, while the nepokids are praised.
While I don’t appreciate P&Ps harsh reviews of Deepika’s looks, the nepo comment is moot here. Isn’t she a famous celebrity’s kid. Pretty sure that was the reason for her debut with one of the biggest stars in Bollywood.
The reason she got launched wasn’t her father. She worked as a model before joining Bollywood, did a music video for Himesh. That’s where Farah Khan spotted her and asked her to work on OSO. If Prakash Padukone was powerful enough to launch DP with SRK, then I’m sure he would have done the same for Anisha too. The Padukones are humble hard working family and they don’t all have filmy connections and ambitions.

I have friends who know the family closely. She set out to take on the world of modelling on her. This girl made it for the most part on her own merits. I am sure Dad supported her (as would any dad) but she cut the bollywood red tape on her own.

Bad highlights. Really bad makeup which is making her look tired/ sick. She isn’t even smiling her usual bright natural smile.
Felt exactly the same. I loved the haircut but highlights are really bad. She might have spend a huge amount on those highlights but they really look like a bad job. Something one gets done by neighbourhood’s parlour aunty. Also, they are aging her.

The gown would be better without those extended all over the floor sleeve. Minus that no complaints! She looks unwell in that make up from a distant pic, but wen ya see the closer one.. damn she looks like Hollywood star. Very American/European styling… lite and clean.

I dont know why, but i feel she looks very witchy here..
The hair with the highlights really suits her! Have missed seeing her in these chic monotone figure hugging bodice statuesque looks that she pulls off so well!
But why o why punish the eyelids here too? Did she and Taapsee share the same makeup artist who decided to kill their browbone and paint it brown all the way up there?!! Both their eyes look so dead/tired!
I think they were relying on the highlights in her hair…they draw the eye to the eyes but its people with light colored eyes who benefit…us dark brown eye girls still need a little makeup to make them pop!!
Again, her own signature winged eye alone or with a glitter eyeshadow with cut crease or a glitter/colored eyeliner or a brighter lip would have wowed so much more…had so much potential!! She looks smashing in that dress otherwise!
