Seeing Red: Part Deux

Deepika also went red for the Hello! event opting for a one shoulder Jade gown. As much I love the severe updo, it doesn’t belong here especially considering the gown is so feminine and flirty.

Just me feeling underwhelmed?

  1. Neck up she’s gorgeous but the whole look belongs to a beauty pageant I feel. What’s the theme for this awards? Red? Or dress as tacky as possible? Saw in another site what the ‘socialites’ wore, puke worthy at its best. I’m almost certain that sophie & illeana dressed the best.

  2. I think its been a while sincce Deepika showcased her inner diva, and she does it beautifully here.
She looks fresh and her carries it off well.
    Her team did well.
And I think her hair goes beautifully with her overall look.

  3. Yes, it’s true. The updo is very different from her usual ones for a good and bold change but simply does not go with the gown. A mistake indeed.

  4. She looks regal in the red gown….though the pic in centre with harsh light does give her a severe look… Other pics do better justice….a softer hairdo would have helped better the look perhaps…

  5. I think she looks fabulous. If there is one actress who can (even marginally) pull off ANY look, it has to be Deepika Padukone.
The ‘severe’ updo does nothing to take away from the look. Probably balances it out. And its the different hairdo that infact, makes us do a double-take.

    • I am sure it was the “inspiration” behind this look. But unfortunately for her, tiny head -> wider face + badly designed dress(makes her look wide) = not pulling this off.

  6. This dress doesn’t do her justice!! If her hairdo had been less severe, it might have uplifted the look. But she does look so effortlessly beautiful!

  7. Red is a very sexy, feminine and flirty colour. And the hair needed to be sexy, feminine and flirty too. The hair is too strong to have that going for it.
    its a nay from me
