In Gauri and Nainika

Deepika attended the opening night of the 13th Marrakech International Film Festival in a yellow Gauri and Nainika. The simple gown was finished out with an updo and gold earrings.

Deepika wasn’t the only one to do a ‘simple yellow look’ on the red carpet, Patricia Clarkson also wore a yellow gown in a brighter shade, but while the latter wore her hair down messily, it was DP’s updo that came off as a winner.

This look is really safe & mute imho, + i think a brighter yellow hue like topaz would have made it stand out more.
Mustard color in gowns works better on blonde & lighter skintones (i.e. Michelle Williams @ the Oscars). I could see Kareena Kappor & her rock it for a desy flavor. It´s a bit dull on a dusky beauty like Deepika. Dusky & darker skintones shine best with jewel-like colors. They make them glow & shine like crazy (i.e. Anushka Sharma & Sonam Kapoor´s epic Victoria Beckham dresses)….

  1. Hmm… There is something about this look which is not working for me… It definitely needed a bracelet. It feels too monotone and boring. The twins look like little wedges and I would’ve liked it to look a little shapely 🙂 That said, neck up, there is nothing I can fault! She looks as beautiful as ever.

  2. Perhaps a golden or silver slim belt would have made the look 10 times better or a red lippy maybe…..
the look seems a tad bit lacking
Deepika looks lovely none the less!

  3. DP looks gorgeous! While the outfit is nice, wish DP would have picked a more stand out dress & makeup for a global platform … But relatively still a good look compared to some of the desi hiccups in the past by others on major global red carpet events.

  4. Getty has better pictures. She looks very nice in the close-ups. She looks elegant and its good that she has kept other things at a minimum as her earrings with the heavy “maatil” do all the “Leela” talk. That main detail is completely missing in these photos.
She looks statuesque on the stage with the whole group.
