In Pankaj & Nidhi

For a recent launch, Deepika picked a Pankaj and Nidhi lace dress to wear. Her favorite/default pair o’ pumps and a metallic belt (presumably added to break up all that red) completed her look. Given the launch was for an eyewear brand, the glasses on her aren’t surprising.

While we loved the dress as presented on runway, the modified version with its visible shorter lining is bit of a downer for me. And while the neckline on Deepika has me feeling major clavicle envy, I do wish she had worn the dress as was presented on the runway.

But lets face it, this is Deepika we are talking about. She looked good!

  1. I’m a huge DP fan, and have been amazed by how her style and beauty has grown in the recent months… but I absolutely do not like a single thing about this look! Such a downer! (The dress was perfect as presented.)

  2. Prefer the runway neckline and not feeling the lack of lining on the bottom half of the dress too. She still looks pretty good though.

  3. i dont like the glasses and the shoes …considering she couldnt give the glasses a miss.. wish she had worn some cigarette trousers and a pretty blouse… that would have been amazing.. the whole look is kind of disjointed.. rare miss from deepika

  4. My expectations were HUGE ..considering her anamika khanna “white fairy dove” look 😛 but but you can’t look out of this world all the time..so this is kinda acceptable….although din’t like the hair and the ear rings and i think her footwears collection is not so exciting…(or i should say probably the only boring thing about her :P)

p.s. does anybody know what tattoo she had at her ankle? 😛

  5. So Ms Padukone rarely gets it wrong… But this really is a downer.. Still not a wrong…
I have a gripe with the hair style… She needed to pull back her hair with the specs… And agree with above.. Cigarette pants, top would hav been a better choice..

  8. a ponytail would not have done what this hair has for the glasses.

in her earlier red appearances, as much as i recall- i loved the short one she wore during the Race2 promotions and that red gown for the Simi show. i love Dee’s versatility.

  9. I’ve never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight,
I’ve never seen you shine so bright,
I’ve never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance,
They’re looking for a little romance, given half a chance,
And I have never seen that dress you’re wearing,
Or the highlights in your hair that catch your eyes,
    I have been blind;

that’s Lady in Red by Chris DeBurgh. Deepikaaaaa rocks!

  10. that’s a well cut dress. am sure she must be looking smoking in person in that look (or otherwise).

and as someone said here, Don Draper would go crazy, very true. I am not Draper but still dizzy about Dee’s style, it’s classic and infectious.

she makes glasses look chic, great hair.
