In Louis Vuitton

Wearing a Spring 2022 look with knee-high boots from Louis Vuitton, Deepika attended the brand’s gala dinner in Venice on Thursday evening. Wasn’t a fan of the outfit to begin with, but pairing it with boots didn’t make the look any better either.

  1. I don’t not like it. There’s a lot going on in this outfit but as individual pieces those pants are well tailored, the boots are interesting, and the jacket is luscious (barring the neck scruff thingy). So as individual pieces me like, put together it’s a bit jarring even on the model.

  2. I think I would’ve liked it if the trousers were full length and worn with strappy heels, everything else as is.

Every piece seems like a statement piece here.
The soberity of the colours helps but I still don’t know where to focus my eyes.

  3. Runway pics and shoot pics is the exact thing to note! love it on the model, it’s great on Deepika but very crowded, heavy make up, accessories, cocktail look hair, it’s all for a different look, while on model it just elevated a hot pants to high fashion a la lite styling

  4. She is channeling the fashion sense of a British dandy from the 18th century..

I have a weird feeling that we are going to see Natasha Poonawalla wear something like this soon..

On an aside,Women with wide/broad feet – Which brand of dress shoes do you prefer? I want to keep the price under 8k.

  5. I actually like it on Deepika barring the heavy make up (it is lovely but will fit a different look) and the weird boots. The boots look as if they are melting and I can’t unsee it now. Might be in the minority here but I feel she makes it work better than most would.

That being said, runway styling/ensembles can mostly be worn together only to shoots or editorials. More often than not, they would look outlandish in normal settings.

  6. It takes more than a pretty face and a good body to work certain looks. DP is gorgeous but this is just not her vibe. It looks forced and contrived on her. Needs an edgier personality to carry it off.

  7. Hmmm…as a lover of clothes and fashion how would you guys style this…I would have gone for full length pants in the same colour, a sharp black shirt and a stunning neck piece or jacket…full marks to DP for not whitewashing her face.

  8. It’s a very odd outfit, but I think Deepika totally works it – hair, makeup and statuesque build.
Her model cred comes through, and in my opinion, she carries it off better than the runway model does.

  9. She needs to fire Shaleena, her stylist, and just once in every little while dress the way she, the fabulous beautiful girl she is, would want to dress, and not the way she imagines Deepika Padukone, the big style icon she seems to have become, must dress.

    • I don’t think its Shaleena….I think stylists from LV create these looks and Deepika and her team probably doesn’t have much say in it….Knowing Deepika, she wouldn’t wear something this bad although she hasn’t been great lately.

      • If you follow South Korean celebrities such as IU and Kim go eun, who are global ambassadors of Gucci and Chanel, their stylist Eel plays a major role in designing/deciding their looks. And She can take notes from fellow LV asian global ambassadors Bae Doona and Ho Yeon on how to rock LV looks. On other note, totally crushing over Ho Yeon and all her LV looks.

Of late, all her looks feel forced.

  11. Love her make up but the dress is too high fashion for me to comment. Aaam junta like me cannot imagine wearing anything remotely like this.
Is she going to be a LV brand ambassador? I don’t think Shaleena is involved in this.
That said, totally model-esque look from DP.

  12. If the pants were full length, I could still understand the concept. The length of the pants paired with those boots has me confused.

  13. I liked the look at first glance because I thought it was the cover photo of a magazine.
But as an actual outfit it’s beyond silly.

  14. I actually think she looks great and the outfit looks even better on her than on the model.

Now whether this is event appropriate or not, I cannot decide. This season all catalogs are flooded with blazers on shorts and I am trying to wrap my head around it ?
