In Ashi Studio

Deepika was one of the few who did white at the Filmfare Awards wearing an Ashi Studio dress. Neither did I like the dark lips nor the high-low ruffled hemline which at first glance itself had me thinking flamenco-dancer.

Did you like her white look?

P.S. She is wearing jewellery from Anmol and Louboutins.

  1. So finally the post is here…This is what happens when you set the bar so high for yourself…..she rocked almost all the red carpets last year so expectations were like high from her and this time around the looks are not something you go gaga over…though she does not look ba…but still DP can do mucccchhhh better,,we have seen her doing that..

  2. The ‘high low’ concept of the gown was good but the hemline in front was a little too short which made the whole look awkward and the bold lip should have been given a miss. Bold lip against more creamy tones look nice not with stark white gown i think.

  3. If a beautiful woman like DP can’t make the gown look good, you know it’s bad. This is a WTHey. And those dark lips from afar end up looking like moustaches.

  4. Even gorgeous Deepika cannot make this work – it’s like the designer set out to make a quite-pretty gown and then reached the waist part and went crazy! Her make up is also off here.

  5. The high hem in front in to high as compared to the train, a little lower might have been better. Plus the drop waist is too much along with the high low hemline, a fifties style high waist might have been better. I really love ashi studio, but this and the last one on sonam have been dissappointing. Hate the dark lip, red might have been better.

  6. Sonam had worn similar ashi studio dress some time back… I think the dress is not that bad… Maybe better makeup and hair would have made a difference

  7. she looks like a white peacock. hate the lip colour with this outfit. why is she wearing such strange forced looks these days? that black gold sari was ugh, and this?

  8. I think red lip colour would have looked better.
Plus this dress is not made for her. Bollywood divas should do away with showing off legs everywhere. It’s an award function, give it a break.

  9. Bollywood stylists need to keep a flash camera on hand and taken this photos in those lights because then they would realise the following:

    1) The colour of the outfit and makeup do not need to match but the undertone does. Deepika is wearing a cool-toned lipstick with warm-toned blush/bronzer and warm-toned dress. This is part of the reason the lipstick clashes with the dress and stands out so starkly. That and the fact that the lipstick is just too dark. Warm-toned deep red lips and nails would have worked really well with this dress.

    2) I love the colour of the dress and the work on the top half. The dress should have had cut-out sleeves and should have been gown length in a fishtail silhouette

    3) Deepika’s makeup artist needs to ease up on the brown work. Deepika has great eyebrows but the MUA insists on overloading with brow products. A tinted brow gel and strategically filling (if even needed) are all that DP’s brows require.

Other than that, I love the hair style and the jewellery is understated and beautiful! I also love that the makeup is matte but doesn’t look dry!
