  1. Is that a small roll of fat on the first model’s back?
Now that is the shock factor of the show. The clothes? Hmm, never mind.

The fourth one is a lot like the one worn by Priyanka Chopra at some show, isn’t it?

  2. I love the colours on the skirt in the first pic.
The third one, its amazing! I cannot wait to see it off the runway!
The rest: Very Rohit Bal, but i’m kinda bored.

  3. i am not liking the incorporation of metallics into his designs. Maybe its just the high beam lights shining on them. They look cheap. But i do like some of the silhouettes.

  4. Hairstyle – D- ( Yikes ! also, the men and women are wearing the same hair)

Clothes – F- (Yikes Yikes Yikes)

Attitude – A ( The models must be paid a lot to wear such horrible clothes but I still praise their courage to be seen in those clothes)

Overall – F- (I am going to puke now)

  5. ooo.. not too impressed because of the use of fabrics.. they are too shiny and remind me of garbage bags.. sorry.. the only creation i am digging is the first one..

hey PnP.. does Rohit Bal do the designing himself or does he hire stylists to work under him?

  6. Surbhi: Rohit has stylists and designers to work under him, but he ultimately does the thinking/designing/theme (define this as tightly or as loosely as you will) himself. This means that his shows are always “Rohit Bal showing Rohit Bal”, and never comething like “Hedi Slimane showing for the house of Dior”, if that makes any sense?

This is a boring collection from all angles. Just goes to prove that a designer can’t really do two lines in one season too easily.

  7. I love the tenth dress in brown and silver fish like scales.
I don’t mind a little fat here and there on the models as long as they look good ..but the first models ruins the dress for me. It looks like the designer put the dress on a skinny man. And the hairstyle totally kills the look!

  8. One question for every one :

Normally the designer clothes look horrible on the ramp and with such loud and ugly hair and makeup, does any body ever want to buy these clothes? I have never seen these type of clothes on regular celebrities or the red carpets so my question is where do these ugly clothes go?

  9. What happened? Such a mixed collection and the styling is terrible. What is with the 12th dress. I am all for models with full bodies but the way this one is standing all I can see her paunch sticking out. Bad bad styling.

  10. Personally, I think Indian designers are always a little bit amatuerish. None of these clothes are anything special at all. They just can’t reach the same kind of transcendent appeal of Elie Saab, for example.

  11. Gudds, has the silouhettes down to pat, but I guess the black ramp, does not reflect the light really well on the models. I hate some of the shoes, and I guess the men are being styled to look like Samurai warriors??

  12. @Gurpreet: Good question. Where do a lot of these clothes go? Or do the prints and fabrics get adapted in to more wearable stuff.

Also a loud Hahaha! @ Velvet Jodhpuris, the first male model looks like he’s thinking, “I’m so underpaid for this clown act”.

Clothes look amateur more so since nothing stifles imagination more than the deliberate attempt to appear imaginative. All in all this collection is boring.

  13. @Gurpreet, I guess it depends on your taste, there are those (like myself) who like to take a risk and go for something crazy and others (I’m assuming, like yourself, who don’t)
..beauty is in the eyes of the beholder though, and while most of these clothes are editorial there are a few workable items and items that one can tailor too look good
I love the last one, I can see Beyonce in that (I don’t know if B-Wood celebs are brave enough) 🙂

  14. futuristic, i guess?

metalics/browns/purples is a great mixture for this collection. his designs are fresh and and very creative. something mostly nobody would wear but you’ll maybe see them on magazine shoots.

  15. These are to say the least interesting. There are a number that will never ever hit the stores or even the high end botiques. They just look like crap. I agree with the garbage bag analogy. The one to the left of that one looks like its supposed to be a samori warrior that was thrown in water. Not to plesent. Chives Regal sponsered this event, usually you expect to see more from the designers they sponsor but then again they have sponsored him before and was a success so i guess they were banking on previous work to pull through again.
