Match And Contrast

Comment image 35

In Dec, we saw Celina do the plain colored sari and contrast with black accessories. She repeated the same format in a different color, this time going with green and more surprisingly swapping out her trademark grey lenses for black ones. (I say swapping, cuz, per Celina, the colors of her eyes are green.)

Question is, which color do you prefer on her?

  1. Both sarees look tacky, especially paired with that black, sleeveless AND decollete blouse. I’m going to have to beg bolly actresses to stop wearing sarees altogether if they cannot do any better. ugh.

  2. Is she not wearing any lenses on the right? She looks much better there! I didn’t realize she was wearing lenses, I always thought that was her natural color, she should def ditch them, she looks better without any lenses~

  3. Looks much better with darker eyes. Also black with peach is a silly combo-beige would have worked better. She is looking nicer and ‘softer’ in the green saree

  4. Oh my god she looks NORMAL and not-supernatural with more normal colored eyes! Amazing what a difference eye color makes. Also, is it just me or is her eye make-up also *comparatively* lighter?

Small detail — her hair looks better in the pink sari pics. Looks a little wig-like in the green ones.

  5. Celina has light eyes, girls! Have seen her around since her earliest fashion days, and she’s always had light eyes! Am no fan, but how come no one gets snarky about Aishwarya’s or Rani’s eye colour?

      • Sweetie, almost every girl in the industry wears coloured lenses, simply because lighter eyes photograph better than black ones. Even Ash changes her eye colour. But Celina’s basic eye colour IS light — she’s wearing black lenses in the second pic, which is unusual — but they look more natural to us Indians!

    • No one gets snarky about Aishwarya or Rani because they naturally do have light eyes. They only change their eye colour for their movies (eg. Aish in Jodhaa Akbar, Rani in Dil Bole Hadippa and Black).

Celina usually wears grey contact lenses, in and out of movies. She may have light eyes naturally but no one can tell with those lenses covering it!

And yes most actresses do wear coloured lenses and it’s for cosmetic purposes (same reason that I used to wear them!). I do not believe it’s for the reason that lighter eyes photograph better than darker eyes. I think there is a depth in NATURAL eyes that coloured lenses cannot depict.

      • I agree…. natural eye color has more depth. Who cares if Celina’s eyes are naturally light or dark, all I know is she looks hideous with those gray lenses on. They look like snake eyes!!! It’s obvious that is not her natural eye color.

      • sweets im an ophthalmologist, ash n lolo hav blue n rani has hazel eyes…agreed celina has light eyes too but they rnt grey and those pix in d pink sari (and evvvvverywhere else) are clearly gray contacts. they make the coloured part look larger which is why it reminds us of Aahat. in the green sari, theyr the normal size so she looks more human. trust me. i can tel the difference!! btw she looks so much better with less makeup!

  6. Natural or not she looks waaaay better with the dark eyes. It makes her look younger and softer somehow. As for the sarees, neither look exceptional but the green looks a little prettier, but you have to wonder with all the gorgeous sarees designers must be flinging at these lot to wear – why pick something average not once but twice!

  7. These Sarees remind me of the Georgettes (not the fine variety we get these days but the thick rough variety) that was so popular in 80’s… they look so so dated ..

  8. THANK THE LORD ALMIGHTY for the loss of her UGLY as hell blue-green-grey contacts!!! HALLELUJAH!!

Please Ms Jaitley—- LEARN!!! This is by far your best look simply because COLOURED CONTACTS ON US BROWN WOMEN ARE SIMPLY TACKY!! naturally coloured eyes is a different story but coloured contacts = trash.
    dump the trash!!

    • Okay, I dont really agree with this. Colored contacts on brown women can look good depending on the color!

Second, Celina hardly classifies as brown.

Third, yes the light icy blue contacts she wears is a scary color on her (or most everyone) but if she wore something a bit darker blue, or dark gray a shade, it might look much better on her.

Fourth, Aishwarya, Kajol, Rani, Shibani, Sneha Ullal, Karisma Kapoor, and Aditi Gowitrikar all have varying shades of ‘light’ eyes, and each one looks great in em IMHO.

  9. Don’t tell me she too is going the Vidya balan way of wearing the same style over and over again.. and what’s with the strategically placed hair.. it looks so funny .. like it was intentionally kept on her blouse to cover something!

  10. Green is miles better! compared to the peach look, love the minimal makeup and the green suits her skin tone. Dark eyes are not so bad but i wish she kept it natural and skipped the lenses altogether. NA-TU-RALE is in, ladies!!

  11. imho the green gave her skin a sickly pallor whereas the peach one made it peachy.
Could the ensembles BE any plainer? The watch stands out in the first picture…other than that–*YAWN* ZZZZZZZZZZ….
Yes, light coloured eyes can look cold and scary at times, but I don’t think she needs to cover them with black lenses. She could show her natural iris, and do add warmth and softness apply blush ON the apple of the cheeks, have a layered and V shape haircut, perhaps with soft waves, and part her hair on the side.
Lol. like she’s ever going to read this.
