Glove Love

Yet again Kangna changes it up by adding zing to her colorblock dress by way of gloves. While I love that she jazzed the look up with them, I so wish she had picked lace ones instead of the leather ones she has on. They seem too severe for the look.

Color Clash

A yellow Anita Dongre Grassroots frock with red Mary Janes, in theory, seems like a good idea but Mallika’s presentation of it doesn’t quite match up. I love the flared skirt but the barely there bustier and the severe ponytail isn’t gelling with the fun nature of what this look should be. It’s a thumbs down from us. What about for you?

P.S. Anyone else think Ms. Sherawat is chanelling a certain Ms. Arora?

NYFW Spring 2011: Bibhu Mohapatra

More power to the Indian designers; may their tribe grow! :)

Bibhu’s recently shown collection was beautiful, feminine and essentially for that girly-girl.

After working with Halston and J.Mendel, Bibhu Mohapatra started working on his own label creating custom couture evening gowns and cocktail dresses for select clientele. The F.I.T graduate has since established his own label and this was his second showing.

Evening-wear and cocktail dresses dominated the collection and my absolute favorite was the blue-and-black tulle gown (first row, extreme right). Can’t wait to spot it on a red carpet!

Make It Happen: An H&M+Lanvin(+HHC) Collaboration

You’ve probably already heard about the H&M and Lanvin collaboration. In addition to it, they are also having a contest where the first trailer of the upcoming fashion show of the collaboration will be given to a blog to show exclusively. Yup, you read that right. It will only be on the winner’s blog.

We think with all of your help, we can make this happen! Go ahead and vote for us, won’t you please?!

Keeping It Casual- Part Deux

For a recent appearance, Malaika dressed in a pair of grey shorts and a white silk shirt that she paired with some aviators, a necklace and her current favorite pair of shoes, her gold wedges.

Barring the hair, I like this look on her. Once again, a pony, a messy braid, hair worn loose-and-away from the face would’ve been sooo much better.
