LFW Winter/Festive 2012: Sailex

Sailex presented a collection that was a glamorous ode to the 50s with sweetheart neclines, peplum accents and embellishments that he also used in his Spring collection. Loved the cocktail sari with the silver cropped blouse and also the houndstooth pattern woven skirt.

Wish we saw a lot more of him on the red carpet. Hopefully, some stylists are reading. (wink wink!)

LFW Winter/Festive 2012: Nishka Lulla

This was a decidedly more grown-up collection from designer Nishka Lulla when compared to her previous offerings. And we are pleasantly surprised with the direction she’s started on!

LFW Winter Festive 2012 Grand Finale: Kallol Datta

LFW changed it up this edition (a very welcome change, we’d like to add) by doing a double feature grand finale with designers Kallol Datta and Pankaj & Nidhi.

Kallol was the opening designer featuring a 54 piece mix and match collection, Cuts. In addition to his trademark deconstructed looks, we saw tassels and metallic accents.

The collection isn’t for everyone but around here, we are fans.

LFW Winter/Festive 2012: Bodice By Ruchika Sachdeva

Designer Ruchika Sachdeva’s take on androgyny, we like. What we love though are the use of ghungroos as embellishments and those embroidered mustaches that popped up now and then to our delight. That sheer maxi skirt with those mustaches stood out. Spot those sleeves with embroidered mustaches on the cuff? Must have.

LFW Winter/Festive 2012: Nupur Kanoi

First things first. Loved Ms. Kanoi’s presentation titled ‘Chapter Two’. Beautiful dresses and gorgeous pants that we long to see off-the-runway were the highlights. Those indigo pants (row one) or the embroidered green jacket with the blue accent (row three)… Must. Have. Them. Now. That said, does anyone else feel the designer has bit of an Anamika Khanna hangover looking at row three? Can’t seem to shake off a strong sense of déjà vu.
