A whole lot when you show up at an event dressed almost exactly like someone else! That moment happened at the launch of Chandra’s latest collection where Karisma Kapoor and Lara Dutta showed up to the event wearing very similar outfits and even similar hairstyles. So much so, the difference between them could probably be made just by their bags!

And just normal bags, they weren’t! Lara’s was a Louis Vuitton right off the Spring 08 collection and Karishma was carrying the much desired Birkin in black! This round belonged to Karishma, just because you know how much we adore the birkin and hate the LV monograms!

Did Pria Kataria Puri think that just because we have a weakness for the “Birkin”, that we would excuse her bad dressing style! We do admit our weakness about the “Birkin”, but we still do not pardon anyone who dresses this ghastly while carrying a “Birkin”! (That Fendi belt, just screams “I am so outta place!”)

We judge designers by looking at their whole ensemble, and not just by their bag! They can’t distract us by a “Birkin”!

Classic Or Trendy?

We spotted Padmini Kolhapuri carrying a sequined Chanel bag recently and we couldn’t help but think that Kareena’s classic Chanel beats the sequined version hands down. Or is it just that Padmini couldn’t pull it off?

When we first posted this chocolate croc Hermes Birkin from the Spring ’08 collection, little did we think that we would find a similar one on the arms on anyone anytime soon! (excluding Victoria Beckham of course!) Now we are excited and at the same time sad to report that we caught Natasha Poonawalla strutting one at the Indian Oaks 2008 event.

Why are we sad? Cuz she has one and we don’t! Sigh.

Thats a picture of Katie Holmes and Shweta Bachchan, both carrying the extremely coveted Hermes Birkin bag in red…

A Birkin, is a Birkin, whats not to love?

But, and there is always a but, I just think that Katie’s Birkin is a bit too big! I mean really, it does take the ‘over-sized bag’ thing a bit too far! It is obscene! Shweta’s on the other hand, is “just right”!! I know, I feel like Goldilocks too when I say that, but really!
