Sari Style?

After giving us such a glam look the day before, WTHeyyy is this? It’s not that we hate the sari (an Anamika Khanna) itself. It isn’t so bad but with the bleached straightened hair and the bangles and the way she wore the sari, the result is more tacky then pretty.

If our first reaction at seeing Bips was ‘Beedi Jaleyle‘, it can’t be good, can it? It’s such a pity that this is the best she could do considering we’ve seen her look really good on the ramp in a pale yellow Rocky S.

  1. she looks gorgeous! was sceptical when other long-time fans began complaining that P&P were being unduly critical, but am gradually coming around to their point of view — sorry to say.

  2. i agree totally P&P, hair and the way she wears the pallu is whats killing this look, she would have looked awesome if she had done both differently. I dont mind the bangles so much, its not so behenji also, comeon, the only pieces she is wearing are the bangles and the earrings, that is just fine.

  3. Bipasha has this quality of carrying off both Indian and Western looks very well … and from my recollection, she usually does so with a sexy class. That being said, I wish she had chosen a different colour blouse – I am so so over the pink and orange combo. Also the blouse looks like a sports bra. I love that orange colour though and it looks really good on her. Having a gorgeous face helps, I suppose 🙂

  4. Is she “in character”. Because, that might be a good excuse for Ms. Basu right now. WTF was she thinking, she can do and has done so much better!

  5. I think she looks lovely overall. Yes the sari is meh. Yes the blouse and hair are meh. But I like the bangles. And the bindi suits her.

  6. the hair is too straight and the scalloped ends of the saree is meh but the bangles and bindi look awesome! i really think it was nice of her to don traditional indian bangles unlike other celebs!

  8. india is the land of classic traditional saris and the ladies choose to wear saris like this? it seems “trendy” just gobbled up “tradition” and threw up a mess of bling and baubles.

  9. I’ve see this colour combo plenty of times but now it feels a bit much for my eyes although I can’t help thinking how much a non-desi audience would love this.

  10. dark hair and a different blouse other than the halter bra kind of blouse would have looked good for the traditional look.

  12. It’s like the blouse (which I hate) is from a different sari then the sari she’s wearing. It’s just not working – her hair looks limp and horrible and just the whole look is one big mess.

  13. I think Bips got it mostly wrong on this one. Hate the bleached orangish hair with an orange saree but do like her bangles, bindi etc. I don’t care for the blouse and the pink-orange combo. Overall, it could have been a whole lot better.
