In Tarun Tahiliani

Bhumi attended a wedding reception on Monday evening wearing a maroon embellished sari from Tarun Tahiliani draped the seedha palla way. Ear cuffs, a ruby choker and matching colored clutch finished out her look.

On paper, she checks off all the boxes the right way for finishing touches. But, I think wearing the sari the nivi drape would’ve worked better here. What say you?

  1. Don’t mind the seedha palla drape at all, wish it didn’t expose the blouse, that’s all. But then it’s Bhumi, would we even know it’s her if we didn’t see her chest?

  2. As usual Bhumi “successfully” brings down yet another, what could’ve been a nice sighting (as the saree is quite pretty) with unnecessary display of boobs that doesn’t even look aesthetic, casual or sexy from any angle but plain tacky.

  3. I’m saying this, Bhumi looks really nice and I don’t like the model version, yes there’s boob push up and greasy make up but she looks 90s big model on a mag cover, with a good end.

  4. It’s a gorg saree but if guests wear this to the reception then what does the bride wear? A bride could have easily worn this gorg saree to one of the wedding functions or even the reception.

  5. For the past decade or so, this Begani shaadi mein Abdulla deewana sensibility of dressing has been rampant. To everyone wondering, “if this is what you wear to some begana’s reception, what do you wear to your own, what does the poor bride wear?” I believe the only way these celebs can catch some attention on their big day is to go shockingly “simple” or “obscure”.

Naive me used to think, that is probably their personal aesthetic coming to the fore in a private moment. But now I understand it’s just a symptom of how broken, dystopian, paradoxical and moronic the game is and how sheep-like and matrix core their lives are. At the peak of profligacy, shock value and contrarianism is the last recourse. To feel compelled to consume the maximum resources that money can procure, at every random event, every second of your lives just coz you can? one can only imagine the kind of anhedonia they must live with. Restraint as a virtue is not just for the environment or to benefit the poor, it is also foundational to one’s private ability to partake pleasure.
