Bhumi attended the GQ Best Dressed soiree wearing a Raw Mango decorative breast plate with a skirt and top created from a Raw Mango sari. The breast plate itself is inspired from the piece worn by men when who perform the Theyyam ritual in Kerala.
Coming to Ms. Pednekar, while I give her point for originality the look as a whole feels just too gimmicky and comical. In the large scheme of things, folks who are remembered as best dressed aren’t ones who churn out offbeat costumes but who also have a signature style. Not only Ms. Pednekar, but I really hope every one catches on to that realization soon.

Hopefully, next time she won’t turn up in a Kathkali costume.

So her team said lets take a theiyyam ritual breast plate, and fit it over a lehenga (worn with a necklace too) for what? I dont get it. I feel really bad for her if she is being forced to wear this, or intentionally wears this. The white raw mango sareee turned lehenga looks gorgeous though.

I like that she is having fun. Everyone playing it safe to not great outcome anyway, I like her vision and she looks like beautiful regardless.
If she was going to wear a Theyyam inspired breastplate, then the whole concept should have been warrior queen or a Devi/goddess with a matching hairstyle and body language. Not this docile vestal virgin look with the breastplate tacked as an afterthought. Such a waste!
