In A.W.A.K.E

Comment image 10

Bhumi was seen at a screening wearing a white shirt with A.W.A.K.E pants paired with an Ottolinger mini bag. The pants ain’t gonna be everyone’s cup of tea but in wearing it with the simple white shirt helped play down the whimsical skirt layer. I don’t love it. I don’t hate it either.

On an aside, the skirt layer is defined by the brand as a basque detail but for the life of me, I can’t figure out what that means. I’ve heard of Basque waist design but nothing that relates here. Any one of y’all know?

  1. This is a very silly looking outfit and I feel bad for women who’ are made to wear this.
Such a random design doesn’t look good, stylish or fierce

  3. Google defines basque as ” A basque is an item of women’s clothing. The term, of French origin, originally referred to types of bodice or jacket with long tails, and in later usage a long corset, characterized by a close, contoured fit and extending past the waistline over the hips.”

So when I first saw this photo rather than a skirt, I “saw” the bottom half of a jacket. Hence the above description makes sense.

I think she somehow manages to carry it of! Not something we of the faint hearted will be running to purchase or emulate. But it looks different, and nice on her.

  4. Its the first time in ages i am seeing her covered up, especially not showing her midriff and she looks polished. This outfit does not look her screaming for attention or trying too hard. I cant believe i am saying this but i like her look in this.

  5. Talk about swinging the pendulum. From barely there clothes to two layers that don’t make sense together. This girl is forever clueless about her style.
