Gone were the denims in Ahmedabad. And if that gave you a start, you aren’t alone. Seeing the suit on Preity made for a pleasant change. It wasn’t just the fact that she picked something other than jeans but also, what she picked. Not a down-to-the-floor anarkali but a regular, nice suit.

In an Abu Sandeep sari, Nimrit attended a screening in Cannes. A sparkly gold clutch, messy updo and pink lips completed her look. It’s a look we find ourselves unable to get on board with; not a fan of the sari.
You may recall seeing a similar mirror-work like embellished blouse on Tabu not too long ago.

While attending a premiere in Cannes, Ms. Gupta posed for the photogs in a Gauri and Nainika on the red carpet. The dusty-blush color, we like. The gown itself, not so much. Besides the obvious fit issues, the ruffled diamond pattern wasn’t the most flattering on her.

For her appearance on day two on the red carpet, Aishwarya went the Indian route wearing a floor-length long anarkali by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.
I, for one, am rather torn by the look. While I love the white on her as it stands out on the red carpet, the floral pattern doesn’t work work me. Reminds me of a doily.
And the hair. Since she did choose to wear that dress, wish she went the whole hog and did something with it. The contrast and heaviness of hair was just too jarring.

Vidya isn’t the only one to sport Sabyasachi while in Cannes. To attend the Gala celebrating hundred years of Indian cinema, Aishwarya picked a Sabyasachi couture lehenga-sari. The Bollywood meets Baroque vibe of the lace and velvet sari with its gold work was rather interesting.
Sure it was blingy and it even reminded us of the whole Dolce and Gabbana vibe from Fall, but we did think Aishwarya channeling her inner baroque princess in the sari made for an interesting change. Of what we see, we like. Once we see more, it may (or may not) change.
