Hair Therapy

The latest issue of Filmfare saw Bipasha, Shilpa and Asin on its covers in an all black mood! Notice how the extra-shiney hair and all-black outfits evoke an almost shampoo’esque ad? Well, its meant to! :p

These cover shots were about promoting Hindustan Lever’s new anti-dandruff Clear shampoo and they go on to do just that! N’est-ce pas?

  1. OMG, have they gone overboard with the photoshop or what? Shilpa looks like a badly done wax model of herself in the picture at the bottom!!

  2. lol…who are these people?
Asin is the only one who remotely looks like herself (in the bottom pic), and she certainly looks the best on the cover- I wouldn’t trust the shampoo brand very much if their FACES are photoshopped that much
three very commercial actresses in a very commercial shoot (or rather, a commercial)- suprise

  3. Haha! The ladies on the cover get red hot and sexy as adjectives while poor priyanka is boringly diplomatic..

I’m on the fence about whether the black on black creates a high impact or not. They certainly do catch my eye so they succeed in that. Maybe some contrast or a bit of glitz somewhere could have helped.

At least the photoshopping is better than what’s on the image below.. I call that death by photoshop..

  4. Refer second pic of Shilpa Shetty darlings.

Guess who gave Koena’s plastic surgeon tough competition? The photoshopper who airbrushed Shilpa beyond repair.

  5. OMG could they have photoshopped Shilpa’s nose anymore?!?! – Asin kinda looks the most like herself – the bottom pics have been photoshopped to the extreme.

  6. Hm. for a shampoo ad, they’ve made Bipasha’s hair look incredibly damaged and grey! Wonder how she didn’t notice it herself. This shampoo is pure crap, it makes your hair feel brittle.

And Asin has the expressions of a school principal! Hate her stupid aunty like face

  7. These are terrible covers. They don’t even look like real people – all the pictures look fake. Filmfare has gone overboard with the photoshopping.

  9. How do these gals get away with continuing to have healthy hair while they’re constantly at it with color and heat to style it?????

  10. @ deewani- the whole point of the blog and the fact that it has so many followers, is that it is glamorous.Superficial though this may sound, the fact that these are famous people wearing gorgeous designers that most of us cant afford/ would not want to splurge on makes it INTERESTING. Honestly, how many of us would follow this blog so actively if it featured only clothes from Promod/ Fab India? And besides there are tons of posts (like anushka in mango) that do cover affordable fashion as well

P.S- no offense, dont mean to sound insulting/ rude, its just loads of ppl have posted similiar comments and I wanted to write my take on it

  12. forget about the faces … why in god’s name would a shampoo brand use so much photoshopping that the hair ‘look’ fake … we all know hey are, but why would you make it so obvious .. how is this going to help sales.. who is going to look at these pics and say ‘i wish i had hair like these’ … no one…

have magazines and graphic designers in india recently discovered photoshop ???? they go over board every single time … and what kind of idiot approves of the final work ?

    @U
Priyanka is prolly termed “boringly diplomatic” cuz she endorses a rival brand! Brand wars anyone?

  14. hahahah chic chick I totally agree with your comment on too poor to be on HHC’s name… I feel the same way.. sux I can’t wear most of the high end designer clothes!

  15. Lol, Like you don’t need to marry a dude to lust over him, no one needs to buy the expensive stuff to lust about it hahah, so I am sure most commentators don’t actually read about designer stuff and actually buy it (I am not sure about most but I don’t HAHA). And to me, fashion is hardly about designer stuff, like seriously I don’t care if celebs are wearing designers or not, only if they look good or stylish in whatever they’re wearing is my priority, see no fascination in getting ordinary things for big bucks

  16. I am sure that the final pic is intentional and is part of the Ad copy. The photographs are touched for sure. I think Asin looks pretty and Shilpa’s outfit is nice ..would like to see more of it. A tv ad for this product has already been launched and you can say that it is a shampoo Ad..because it has the regular symptoms. The Ad features the 3 ladies I believe.

  17. @deewani – this blog is a good way to enjoy the clothes and accessories vicariously – just a fun way to liven up my day amongst mostly bad news these days:-)

On topic, rather than being a shampoo ad, I feel this photoshoot is tryin to prove how “substitutable” these actresses are!! I said this elsewhere, but I really wish their personalities would be allowed to shine through once in a while…

  18. hahahah well bipasha no longer has to wonder what she’d ever look like w/ a browlift! love bips and asin’s covers, and in the second row, bips’ hair seems almost like a weapon lol!

  19. What ever happened to class. Who writes things like “boringly diplomatic” on the cover of a magazine. They went to her asking for an interview I’m sure. I don’t like Priyanka Chopra just for the record.
The pictures are all terrible and who put Asin with these two. I bet its just for the hair.
Shilpa sure has a nose issue but it wasn’t an issue for me until I saw this ridiculous photoshopping effect. Its suppose to make her look better – not worse !!
To go all the way & make three covers with less than mediocre pictures is unacceptable. Red, pink, white and BLACK – puke. Very poor job on the part of Filmfare.
    Woohooo I ranted !

  20. I seriously wish HHC features a section with affordable fashion, cos looking at the unaffordable stuff makes me depressed…hence I write my comments… i`m sure girls wanna see posts on stuffs that they could go off to mall and buy and look stylist 🙂

  21. Boy … all 3 look like aliens in the bottom pic!!
Even the covers not great .. in fact, they are bad!!
What’s up with Filmfare ?? Whoever approved these covers needs to wake up from slumber!!

And ya, am I the only one who gets irrritated by that expression on Asin’s face??
I never liked Shipla, but these guys have made even Bipasha look BAD!!

  22. EWWW I’m sorry but all three of those women look like men dressed up as women. They’re WAY TOOO photoshopped and it looks really bad. The whole point of retouching is to make the person look better, not worse!

These Indian magazines look so darn amateur
