A Refreshing Change

After seeing so many of the same ole Manish Malhotras, this (Rabani and Rakha?) outfit on Asin was a refreshing change. Except, I didn’t like how she wore it. I wish Asin had left the hair open and done her lips better. The light to dark lining style is one I absolutely hate.

  1. I hate those lips too..and Ive realised..the reason it looks bad is…it gives the impression that the lips are really dark with a light gloss on top of it..which isnt applied correctly..leaving the edges of the lips exposed..which is why they are dark…..looks like something that suburban girls would wear…..the ones with no style that is…..

    • Suburban girls ? LOL ! I have no idea what you meant ..but its hilarious !

I think its her natural lip. She probably has different shade of upper & lower lip / dark edges. Guess the girl just slapped on some clear gloss and left. Not a good look at all. She looks dull overall/

  2. sorry p&p i don’t agree with you on this one.
i think she wore it rather well. the color is lovely on her, the bag and shoes are nice..not great but nice. this is her best look in a long time. she (and most of indian women) look best in indian wear.
i don’t think she has outlined her lips…they are naturally dark. she has put a gloss on the inside.

  3. I am on the fence about the hair, you are right in the sense that the hair is too casual for this outfit, however, an open hair would not have been fair to the neck piece. I would have left the hair open, but brought it all to one side. I like the fact that the lips are nude. I do like her shoes and cluch.

  4. Well , i like this dress a lot…A Refreshing change from allthat anarkalis.Neck -design is good.
Open hair -would have covered neck bit. …so updoisfine.
Everything is fine.Just length of dress could have been shorter to focus on tassels too.
Still, being tall ,its looking good on her

  5. The upper-lip looks darker than the lower-lip ewwww.
When she has the right make-up on, she wears a disaster and when she gets the outfit right, the look is hideous! She could’ve done so much better! Baah

and btw, I heard Brittany Murphy passed away a while ago. Sad 🙁
I’ll be nice to do a special focus on her style. Whassay PnP?

    RIP Brittany!

    • why is it that anyone wearing indian clothes and who is looking classy as opposed to trashy is instantly labelled an ‘aunty’ – some people have no taste.

  6. the hair is not working, and neither is that face, there is something very auntie abt her, no matter how youthful she is trying o be. I dont think open hair would have worked with this, but maybe a edgy half updo, to balance the delicate dress, and a better attitude, rather than this pretend-demure one!

  7. she is very pretty and has an expressive face which is such a rarity these days. however something is always very off about her hair. Its always puffed up/aggressively backcombed at the front and this picture’s no different. As for the lipcolour, I agree that she needs to experiment with more shades.

  8. love this dress!
and i’m in agreement with others about the hair
my general rule – if there is a really interesting design – why cover it with your hair??

  9. Earlier your comments on hair used to make some sense.. but unfortunately they dont anymore… if someone’s hair is tied you ask them to open and if they are open you ask them to tie them or move behind the ears.. no your comments on hair dont make any sense any more.

  10. she’s such a pretty gal but so blah at the same time. Hair looks forced. The outfit? eh. What’s with the lip-liner? early-mid 90’s again? Gurl, u need to have a talk with your stylist.

    • actually I always thought something’s up with her hair since it looks forced and too vigorously backcombed all the time. Upon seeing her interview on Tere mere beech mein with Farah Khan I realised that she’s suffering from a bad case of a thinning crown.
As for the liner part, I agree with people who’ve pinpointed it as a case of naturally dark lips. Even pretty girls like her can’t be blessed in every department can they?
