Anshula kicked off pre-wedding festivities with a Mata Ki Chowki ceremony and was seen wearing a gold bejewelled lehenga from Itrh but paired with a Phulkari dupatta that connected to her Punjabi roots.

  1. Beautiful blend of tradition and personal heritage. The gold embellished lehenga paired with a vibrant Phulkari dupatta created a meaningful and elegant pre-wedding look. Anshula’s style perfectly celebrates culture, family roots, and modern bridal fashion.

  2. Just wanted to share this small trivia with this group because some of you are fashion enthusiasts (also because I just visited the Partition Museum in Amritsar): Historically, the Phulkari dupatta was created within households rather than as a commercial product. It was meant as a gift from a mother to her daughter or a mother-in-law to her daughter-in-law. For instance, the maternal side would produce phulkaris over the years, often beginning at a girl’s birth, and the embroidered set of pieces together formed her Stridhan/trousseau which would then become family heirlooms. Just seeing this beautiful vibrant piece on Anshula (and knowing what we know about her Mum passing away) brought back my memory of watching faded phulkaris dupattas through the museum glass and feeling overwhelmed.
