Ananya attended the Advani-Malhotra reception wearing a black Arpita Mehta sari with diamond and onyx earrings. I may not be the biggest fan of these itty-bitty tops but she sure looked good here.

I look at outfits like these and I just wonder how how how they think it’s okay to show up to a wedding reception like this?
She is wearing a black bra with a skirt and barely there drape. So inappropriate. What is wrong with these celebs? Sure her hair and make up look good but that in no way makes up for this kind of outfit.
It is..but how all of it is put together….changes everything about it. This comes off poorly put together, something amiss…
All else aside its such a silly outfit that I burst out laughing. And HHC saying she looks good here (vs any else outside of A-listers wouldve been admonished) made me laugh more. The sheer stupidity of wearing something so silly and winning the HHC score got me ROTLF.
Sigh now I think P&P, and at some level us are what are encouraging these looks, its all about being talked about, good bad or plain terrible ! : )))
These posts always remind me of the song by Brian Hyland – it was an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, yellow, polka dot bikini that she wore for the first (hundredth, in the case of young B-town brigade) time today. Two, three, four, tell the people what she wore…
I love the HMU. She looks absolutely gorgeous neck up.
But let’s be real, here. isn’t a sari; let’s call it what it is: a bra, a skirt and a dupatta.
I have a genuine question- is there no such thing is modesty or anything left in this new generation of actresses? is everyone always so willing to wear clothes that are barely there?

why not just wear a bikini and a sequin sarong and a wrap to a wedding reception.Will do the same trick without the cost of a Saree

Her makeup here is great-there’s no denying it. But, that is not a saree blouse-that is a bra. If you see the back of the blouse, the strap is in fact slimmer than a lot of bra straps and it gave me anxiety of an imminent malfunction. Blaming both the designer and stylist equally here for taking such a risk. The newer actresses are clearly given a brief on the required look (co-incidentally the same for all ethnic functions-weddings, Holi, Diwali, puja-apparently doesn’t matter) but I really wish their teams who are responsible for putting together looks learn to be a little more event appropriate-you can make these girls look incredibly attractive and stylish without having to ‘sex’ up the look all the time.
Just ridiculous.. wearing bra with sari.. so fab (eye roll)!

How is this look any better than Disha Patani’s? IMHO this outfit is even more inappropriate than Disha’s. Can’t believe you can’t call a spade a spade just because the face looks nice.
Arre let her be. She is young and pretty and can carry off anything including flimsy sarees.
As an old person can I say the pressure on young women to be modest has always been immense and sometimes forced. If for this generation showing some skin is the norm it is not so bad so let them be.
I think the discussion is on event appropriateness rather than the show of skin itself
The comments for Shanaya and Genelia are positive or about the dress so it seems a fun event for which this is event appropriate. Just because this is a saree doesn’t mean it has to be handloom and modestly worn.
Disha and Ananya attract a lot of negative comments that are borderline shaming them for their clothes. Imo it reflects more on commenters than the actresses.
So many downvotes. Vocal critics of fashion choices apparently cannot take it when their comments are criticised.
Ananya looks healthier than before but she could have dressed better. I would like to see these women select their own outfits atleast once with out a stylist.

The new kids on the block have changed the meaning of Sari. I recently saw a video of Arshad Warsi’s wife Maria G (Gorreti?) and I was stunned how she was rocking a plain looking but absolutely gorgeous sari.
I am not a regressive person but somethings are our culture and they should be celebrated in their original form. Not everything needs to be westernized and so called stripped apart like the blouse the girls have been wearing- these are ugly piece of clothing even if the girls themselves are gorgeous. Someone should start “Go back to your Roots movement on clothes ” just like someone did it for the Food Industry.. we have so much to be proud of.
